Siver out, Poirier in vs Swanson

MMALivesHereMMALivesHere Posts: 80Free
Dustin Poirier (13-2) has replaced Dennis Siver (21-8) against the in-form Cub Swanson (18-5) at next month’s UFC on Fuel TV 7. The reason for Siver’s withdrawl is not yet known, but it gives 23-year-old Poirier an opportunity to win his way into title contention. “The Diamond” is 5-1 in the UFC, with his one loss coming against “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in the fight of the year last May. He appears to have taken this fight on less than a month’s notice. If he can get the better of Swanson at Wembley Stadium on February 16, it will go down as one of the best decision’s of his career. Here’s the scheduled main card:

•Renan Barao vs. Michael McDonald (interim BW title)
•Dustin Poirier vs. Cub Swanson
•Cyrille Diabate vs. Jimi Manuwa
•Justin Edwards vs. Gunnar Nelson
•Ryan Jimmo vs. James Te Huna
•Che Mills vs. Matthew Riddle

good for Siver, Swanson destroyed Pearson with ease, imagine what he'd do to Siver if they fought. It would be the first death in the octagon.

Btw, is anyone else looking forward to Edwards destroying Gunnar's hype train as much as i am?

Hell yeah. Hopefully Diamond keeps things rolling but cub is no joke.

Dustin better button up his stand up (not saying it sucks at all) because there were a few sloppy exchanges in that Brookins fight and we all know Cub aint no Brookins.

    Gunnar round 2 KO.

Also, people underrate Siver he'd probably of beaten Ross at 145 and has looked really sharp against skilled strikers in Nam and Nunes I was looking forward to him fighting Swanson even though I had Swanson winning I think Poirier will be an easier for Swanson.

I think Nunes would get the better of a narrow decision against Pearson at 145 though, Nunes made Kenny look REALLY beatable before Aldo fought him to a inconclusive decision.

Wrong. It means he is terrible. Brookins has the power of a 15 year old anerexic. After seeing KZ wreck him and Brookins drop him its evident this dude will NEVER hold gold.

Rootin for Dustin but I fear you are exactly right. Cub's speed and accuracy is formidable.

Great thing is Dustin doesnt quit so either way I'm gonna get to see a war. Even if he is defeated, it would be by another high level guy in the division and the diamond has plenty of time to improve his game.

    From www.mmaliveshere.com

haha. Wembley Stadium is 90,000 capacity football ground. Wembley Arena, where fight is taking place is 12,500. Who is proof reading mmaliveshere.com's articles?

    I think it's a better fight, a more relevant fight, and i can't wait as i'm going!
