Will Pettis hold both the 145 & 155 pound straps?

Me thinks he has a very good chance of doing this. I really think he would beat Henderson again in the rematch and that fight with Aldo will be sick but I see him pulling it off. Now would the UFC let him hold both titles at the same time. That would be very kewl what do you guys think?

I hope not for the good of both divisions. A dual weight champ is a novel concept and it would be pretty cool to see that, but theres no way he defends both those belts in a timely enough manner to not hold up either division.

I don't understand why we have to wait 6 **** months for this fight!! It's an intriguing fight, but I don't see Pettis getting past Aldo, even though I'll be rooting for Pettis. He should have fought Bendo/Melendez winner first, because I think he can beat both of them, and then drop to 145 and make it a champion vs champion. All this is proving too is that Aldo can take out Lightweights, which means by the time he moves up to 155 (hopefully), he'll be the champ there. I'm positive he can take the belt from whoever holds it at LW by the time he makes the move.

Also it's really **** up for Ricardo Llamas who actually deserves the shot and is a FW. Erik Koch even told him that he was really underrated, and it seems like the UFC underrates him as well. Hopefully we get a KZ vs Llamas for #1 contender, but who knows by the time that fight happens, we might have Dennis Siver and Cub Swanson in the mix. Or maybe some lightweight will text Dana again and get the shot over someone

He has a the skill to be a champ, but he won't hold both at the same time. Dana won't allow that. It would make too many hold ups as they defend one belt over the other, etc, or two division get held up with layoffs and injuries, etc.

No, because appart from the fact that Aldo is almost untouchable at 145 Bendo will probably muscle him around Guida style. I'm a huge Pettis fan but the tasks that lie ahead of him... not so pretty...

I don't think so. I think he'll be forced to relinquish the FW title (if he were to win) to move up and fight. Holding 2 title at once slows down multiple divisions and Dana wouldn't want that. Each title would probably average 1 title defense a year.

Pettis made a very smart move in stealing a shot at Aldo. He has a chance in any standup war.
Otherwise he'd just be waiting around for 6-7 months only to get beat by Bendo again.

Yes, but he could be waiting in the division where he actually earned his shot instead of trying(successfully unfortunately) to cut the line at FW

Aldo is more likely to finish, Bendo is more likely to win

Bendo won the first fight, flashy kicks aren't part of the judges criteria in the UFC
