UFC president Dana White isn't about to get in the way of a rematch between Mauricio Rua (21-7) and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-5). The pair first faced off in the quarter-finals of the 2005 Pride middeweight grand prix, with Shogun winning by decision in a classic. "Lil Nog" had previously expressed his desire to coach opposite his coutryman on a series of The Ultimate Fighter. Now, after his win against Rashad Evans (17-3), it seems Nogueira is still eager to avenge the loss. White said he thought Shogun vs Evans made more sense, but he had no problems with the rematch. See the full video courtesy of Fighters Only.
"(Shogun vs Evans) is a fight, yeah. That is a fight that could happen, yeah. But I keep hearing this thing that Nogueira and Shogun want to fight each other, they want to do the rematch. I don't know how that makes sense for Nogueira, but that's what they want, that's what I'm hearing they want. Far be it from me to not give somebody what they want."
