so what do u guys think about aldo not wanting to fight Pettis?

It may just be his management saying this but who knows. All i know is that Pettis really has a legit shot at beating Aldo (unlike edgar).....discuss thanx.....

    He can't hide behind his manager and says He asked me not to fight pettis . I just like to see Aldo/Pettis fight happening. Anything obstructing that fight does not sound interesting to me. If Aldo believes that Pettis does not deserve a Shot , he can prove his point inside the Octagon not behind the negotiation table.

    The champion shouldn't be allowed to determine which fights they take. Being the champion means you should be ready to take on all comers regardless if you feel they deserve a shot or not. The champion should be willing to face anyone that can make the weight.

    Big Aldo fan but that's just how i feel.

    Instead he's wasting it with cans in the FW division. Pettis is as much of a threat as anyone he's faced or is going to face at FW thus far.

    I don't agree.There should be a mandatory shot for the number 1 contender from "official rankings" maybe once a year, but that's all.

    having someone drop down and take the belt discredits the division. This is blatantly clear and really this shouldn't be debated. If JDS ko's Reem and instead of taking on the winner of Cane vs Bigfoot 2 chooses to move down to murder Bones, Bones would not say yes. And if he did, and was destroyed people would say JDS should stay in HW and fight against his own size. Same with all #1 contenders in their divisions. The champ should absolutely reject someone from a higher division just assuming the title shot. Aldo is a legend for doing this. Keep it up little spider!

    Aldo didn't **** and complain about a LW getting a shot at his belt when they scheduled him to fight Edgar, so it's really interesting that he is complaining now claiming that Pettis hasn't earned it.

    I think Aldo might be a little worried hes in danger of losing that strap.

    pettis has never been a lw ufc champion or beaten anyone who was p4p at the time he beat them, aldo already held the divison up by fighting edgar, who in turn is a natural 145, but to do it 2x in a row is just insulting to the actual contenders at 145.

    Aldo's wishes seems legit to me. I don't think Pettis getting the title shot is a big deal as it would shoot Aldo farther up the p4p rankings if he wins (right into No.1 spot imho), but at the same time Florian took at least one fight so maybe a match up between Edgar and Pettis is in order. Swanson and KZ could be on the same card. Lamas should just get the shot if he doesn't get a grudge match with Pettis after the nasty win over Showtimes teammate.
