Matt Brown is confident he can do what no man has been able to do to UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre in his last 11 bouts inside the Octagon, which is defeat the dominant 170-pound champion. How? By doing what "Rush" does, but doing it better.

There's nothing quite like having confidence, and Matt Brown has plenty of it, declaring that if he ever earns the opportunity to compete against current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre, he has the skills to defeat him.

So what's his gameplan to defeat "Rush?"

"Stifle" his wrestling, which the French-Canadian does very well to control the pace and outcome of the fights. And while Brown admits his wrestling credentials aren't up to snuff when compared to other mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters, he is confident he can outlast and defeat the man who hasn't suffered a loss in five years.
"Same old GSP, he does the same thing to everybody. They all know what he is going to do, but they still can't stop it. I think I can do what he does better and totally stifle his game. I know that sounds kind of crazy especially considering most of my losses have been by submission and I'm not a big credentialed wrestler. I understand that people will laugh when I say that, but it doesn't bother me, I train with higher level wrestlers than he trains with. I'm honest with myself and I know where I'm at and I know what I can accomplish. I know that I can get there and I can beat him."
"The Immortal" is riding high with four consecutive wins in the 170-pound division, yet, is often the odd man out when talking about the best in the weight class. In fact, he isn't even ranked in the Top 10 in the current official UFC rankings.

Nevertheless, if Brown keeps stringing together impressive wins, he may get his shot against St. Pierre down the road, regardless of whether or not Johny Hendricks can derail the Canadian train.

Meanwhile, next up for the former The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) contestant is Strikeforce import Jordan Mein, who stepped in to fill the void left by Dan Hardy after "The Outlaw" was forced to withdraw from the UFC on Fox 7 showdown because of injury.

Is Brown punch drunk or does he indeed have a chance against the best 170-pound fighter in the world?
