I think this fight would be highly entertaining especially if the fight goes to the ground. What do you guys think of this matchup?

There's no good match ups for Maia atm, all the good Welterweights are taken. Diaz and Condit are the only ones left but they're both on losing streaks and don't make sense for him.

I think Diaz would get taken down and tapped, Diaz may have good Jitz but Maia is another level.

I agree but I think Diaz could put up a fight on the ground. Hes a legit jujitsu guy.

It would be better to see him face a guy on a winning streak, but the fight could move a little higher in the top ten if he wins.

Disagree, Diaz last two fights were title shots and one place behind Maia in the rankings, Condit is still a top 3 guy with only gsp and big rig ahead of him. Either would be a legit and push him up.

i dont really wnna see diaz loose a boring decision again this time to maia, much rather see a war between kampamann and diaz isnt that why we wanted him in the ufc?

That would be a great fight, but then who would Maia face?

After Fitching Fitch, what if Maia just started giving everyone he fights a taste of their own medicine? He slaps Diaz around then taunts him and then fights GSP and LayNprays the **** out of him. Maybe he performs a running man against Condit.

He would be the MMA fighter of the year if all that happened.

    PS - LOL

I know Canada took some flak over he decimal place weight thing but they were not trying to hide anything, they have done it for 5 events in a row.My point is i do NOT trust anything surrounding a Brasil event, they do not have any commission.
Now in saying that, he has only been allowed to fight in his home country once over his last several fights,so i guess he does deserve it.

Maia looks really big at 170,i am quite sure he will have little to no trouble with Diaz,he will submit him and make Diaz's BJJ look amateurish.
    Gina Miesha Kyra ...yes please.

If Diaz kept the fight standing it could spell trouble for Maia. Furthermore, Maia has had difficulties with his cardio in the past as well even though it didn't show during the Fitch fight. However, if the fight was contested on the ground, I think Maia would get the submission.

Really it would be a tough fight to pick in my opinion

If Maia Fitch's Diaz he would probably get the W

If Diaz keeps it standing he gets the W

As far as JJ against JJ I don't know and don't really care, I just want to see it LoL

I think the ground fighting would be awesome. I really wished that the Penn/Diaz fight took place more on the ground.

Yeah I wanted to see Penn in Diaz' guard and Diaz in Penn's guard

Just to see how they both dealt with it

    I SECOND THAT!

Diaz losing would kinda eliminate him, maybe not from top-5, but from the contention, which would make the division so less exciting.

I like this fight. Maia will take it via superior wrestling and control, but the scrambles would be fun to watch.
