    Frankie should not be listed

He beat the #8 p4p once while weighing 20+ lbs less than him and destroyed prime penn twice.

may I remind you guys a p4p list is not supposed to be based on what you think they could do, but on what they did?

You kinda threw Frankie under the bus for his last 3-4 just a sec. ago..

He's still a FW (possible BW) who be (2x weight class) champ Penn twice..

Frankie, despite the controversy, lost 2 fights, went down a division, lost again

he's not even top 5 in my FW rank

My Top 15 for MMA overall not just UFC fighters only. CURRENT RANKING

    1-Anderson SIlva
    2-Georges St. Pierre
3-Jon Jones (One more finish and he replaces GSP in second, hell he might already be #2)
    4-Jose Aldo
5-Benson Henderson (I believe Cain is a better HW than Benson is a LW but Benson has more wins in a row and more title defense)
    6-Cain Velasquez
    7-Renan Barao
    8-Demetrious Johnson
9-Ronda Rousey (her talent compared to her division is a bigger gap than other champs to their competition)
    10-Vitor Belfort
11-Dominick Cruz (I placed him lower because of such a long inactivity period it is ridiculous)
    12-Johny Hendricks
    13-Michael Chandler
    14-Joseph Benavidez
    15-Lyoto Machida

Honorable mention: Gilbert Melendez(off the list for having lost his last fight on paper regardless of being robbed or anything), Dan Henderson(Amazing fighter always ready to throw down at any weight but he lost his last fight on paper regardless of anyone saying he was robbed so he's off), JDS(one fight win streak does not get you on the list), and others.

Now I rationalized that a REAL p4p list should include every UFC division champ obviously, only fighters coming off a win (So what if they were robbed or if they are still great blah blah blah you have to actually win fights to make the damn list), and fighters with the most impressive streaks and performances.

Just a question...why is everyone so quick to put silva at number 1?

I know I'm going to get a million people jumping on me on how great silva is...I'm not saying he sucks or anything, but it's just odd to me that people say a guy at 38 would beat every single top fighter today if they were the same weight.

Remember, silva does have a few losses on his resume, and between some of his great performances, he has had quite a few lackluster ones. I know he's amazing and everything, but there are some absolute killers right now like Jones/Cain/Barao etc. and I think there should be a little more debate as to who the CURRENT best fighter in the world is

Keep in mind that p4p refers to CURRENT ability, and who is CURRENTLY the best fighter in the world.

People confuse p4p with GOAT...if you talk GOAT status, then of course Silva beats jones, cain, aldo.

But if you talk the CURRENT best fighter on the planet p4p, it seems odd to me that a relatively inactive 38 year old fighter gets EVERYONE'S vote.

pretty sure that the rules of the ufc state that you both have to weigh exactly 205 the day before a fight, and don't think he's missed weight once

also, silva's walk around weight is about 215-220 pounds (http://www.mmamania.com/2012/11/14/3641998/georges-st-pierre-vs-anderson-silva-no-super-fight-kampmann) and Jones walk around weight is 230 pounds (http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/mma.cfm?go=news.detail&gid=398330)

if you want to take off points for percentage of weight cut to get in your weight class, silva would be deducted more points

    Frankie should not be listed

He beat the #8 p4p once while weighing 20+ lbs less than him and destroyed prime penn twice.
You do realize that he lost both fights, don't ya? Who gives a **** if you don't think so, you're stupid, it's in the record books as that Midget Baby, or whatever, losing 2 times to Bendo. And..., let's not forget, he lost 3 times in a row in 2 weight classes. For **** sake, Whiney Midget Frankie only won 1 time in his last 5 fights. Frankie is barely arguable as an honorable mention on any P4P list.

you're completely incoherent. you question his losses pre-UFC thousands of years ago and then issues that it's about how they currently are.

    plus, relatively inactive?

The UFC has already put these rankings together for us all.

    1 Anderson Silva
    2 Jon Jones
    3 Georges St-Pierre
    4 Jose Aldo
    5 Benson Henderson
    6 Cain Velasquez
    7 Demetrious Johnson
    8 Renan Barao
    9 Dominick Cruz
    10 Frankie Edgar

    They are quite laughable though.
