Blatter and FIFA will act like they had no idea Qatar was a slave state with some of the worst employment laws in the world.

All they knew was that Qatar paid them better than everybody else.  :(

Indeed. If nothing else, for pure ignorance.

To not once stop to ponder how a country of 200,000 people (many of whom much to wealthy to even consider manual labor in the blazing sun) would erect all these futuristic stadiums and hotels so quickly sounds far-fetched to me. Somebody along the line knew there would be literal slaves involved.

I only just caught on to their BS this past year with the whole Brazil fiasco. I was never enough of a soccer fan to know what the scoop was.

It's beyond sickening; FIFA have the power not only to do good for the game, but genuinely for the good of the world through community stuff etc, instead they're just lining their own pockets and voting in their mates over and over again.

I'd love to see some kind of a breakaway but most of the FA's are just as bad

Sig awaiting NoCake's input.
