UFC President Dana White removed judge Howard Hughes from duty on last Saturday's (Aug. 23, 2014) UFC Fight Night 48 card after having an issue with his scoring of the first two fights. That wouldn't have happened if the fight card was in the United States, and shouldn't have happened, period.

It's worth noting if you're going to discuss this story, that the UFC issued a statement stating that they were completely wrong for doing this:

And Dana White acknowledged a few days later at a scrum that he was wrong in what he did:

Every time an issue comes up, such as judging, streroids, drug abuse, etc,. the forum always says "it's the athletic commission's decision." So, that's not true?

In places that don't have an athletic commission, like Macau, the UFC has to self regulate. So, yes, that is true, but only when there actually is an athletic commission.

And that is exactly what the UFC is doing now.  Self-regulating.  The UFC has its own rules that should have discouraged Dana from doing that...
