Pretty sure I saw an Aston Martin DB9 in my neighborhood the other day.

After I picked my jaw up off the ground because you just don't see cars of the calibur in rural WV I figured it had to be a drug dealer and he is just giving himself away to police.

Missus hired me a DB9 for two days for my 40th birthday. Utterly epic present. Driving through a nearby tunnel at full chat with the windows down was definitely a highlight.

You guys want to know how huge the burnout culture is here in oz? The local track is hosting an upcoming burnout comp & there may be up to $200k prize money just to the winner!

I thought the same thing, but ive watched several versions of the vid and theyre all the same, Its a bit inconclusive. Having seen what a hayabusa can do in other conversions in the past tho makes me want to believe lol

It would be a death machine though lmao

Watching them now, it's funny how the 1/4 mile works and the same ET can vary in mph, and sometimes the same mph can vary in ET...

I guy I know at the track runs consistent 12.0 at 137mph on regular street tyres, using boost by gear to stop wheelspin. Trying to do personal bests he's been mid 10's and still only at 137mph!

My PB so far is 12.12 at 116. Considering doing an electric power steering pump conversion, then the alternator is the only thing spun by the crankshaft pulley. Also considering replacing the fuel tank with a smaller lighter fuel cell. Maybe that will get me into the extremely high 11 second range with just bolt ons and stock converter. Pretty sure I can tune the transmission to shift faster too but haven't looked into it yet.

That’s pretty damn cool! Not gonna lie though I was half expecting them to get Ryan Dunn’d in that video. I would need to be strapped TF in with a roll cage fitted.

Fastest car out there.

Ran a couple of 4.1xx at 173!  Fastest pass I've ever seen in person.

I wonder what it feels like to drive a car that accelerates that hard.

It's gotta be unreal.  That ****er was LOUD,

Seemed like he was hooking up great, most of the cars out there were blowing the tires off.

Looking in to it, this pass would probably translate to a mid-6 second quarter mile.  That's so nutty.  I need to start going to some of their weekend events.

Have you ever seen top fuel in person? Everyone needs to, even if it's just once, even if only to understand...

Probably a 10+ year old video, I remember recording it with an actual video cassette camera hahaha

We were supposed to go to an NHRA event last year (might have been 2016).  I can't remember why we didn't end up going.  I've always wanted to see top fuel.

Ear protection or no?  Describe what it feels like that close.

Man what the ****?  My laptop and TV are going full retard.  I cast a video from my laptop to my TV's YouTube app and now any time I load a page on the forum that has a video it starts playing on my TV, regardless as to whether or not I clicked on it.

I only discovered this accidentally the other day! It's very cool, is it autoplay? Can that be turned off on the youtube page?

DUUUUUDDEEE !!  !  yes hearing protection is a must! The vibrations from the noise feel like holding an orbital sander in your hands, except all over your body... inside and out. You can even feel your eyeballs shaking!

I've usually just casted it through the YouTube app on my phone or when I'm using Chrome.  Normally it'll give me the option to unsync them but for whatever reason it's not this time, lol.

I already reset the TV and it's still connected, guess I'm going to need to reboot the laptop

I don't think my wife understands how much louder top fuel is compared to 6 second car like we say last night.

It's too bad Top Fuel only runs 1000 feet, but I get it.

haha yep obviously the closer someone gets, the more intense the sensation!

hahaha don't try to convince her, just take her one time.  :D

Apparently it's not just for safety but also because the engine is under the most stress being wound out for the extra 320ft. Race teams save a bunch of money with the shorter races. We used to run the full 1/4 up until last year when IHRA took over here.

I had some opportunities to see full quarter mile Top Fuel when I was younger, but sitting around smoking weed was more important.

I'm glad my wife indulges me.  She gets in to it too.   In that pass I recorded, she had JUST left to use the bathroom (car had run once before, also a 4,1), she actually recognized the sound and ran back up the stairs to see it.  Proud husband moment for me.

Lol actually just noticed I can see my wife in that video.  From 23 seconds forward, she's sitting, gets up right when I'm trying to zoom in to see the times (brunette, wearing grey sweater thingy).

wowowowowow

just got back from roll racing! (didn't race)

There used to be a silver r32 that runs low 8's and dominated every meet, it's not been seen for a while.

It has some new competition.

A sleeper evo 2 3 or 4 (can't tell which) looked absolutely blisteringly fast, but spun the wheels bad and lost to a 850rwhp GTS in the semis. The evo was reeling him in big time but ran out of track. The GTS lost to a red R33 gtr in the final race which wasn't even close. The skyline put bus lengths on a 850rwhp car. This was the red r33 skyline's 2nd meet & 2nd overall win in a row, it just pulls dead smooth with absolutely no sign of wheelspin.

Hopefully the dormant silver R32 makes a return, it will be a very interesting race if it faces off with the new red r33.

That 850rwhp GTS I had my sights firmly set on. It's quite heavy and I figure if I can reach 700rwhp I should be able to take it. Hopefully within a year.... But I'm not going to be anywhere near that r33 any time soon. Damn.

yeah, when I say power mode in my vids, it means spray haha I don’t really want to outright declare I’m on the bottle on yt just yet.

I’m really just bolt ons and a 150 shot right now

Here is a pic of the red r33 at about 3/4 mark (of the rolling 1/8th mile track) gaptizing the 850rwhp GTS:

That gap was probably almost doubled within the last 50 remaining meters.
