Nice! First year for the LS1. You can get a ton of power out of them for not a lot of cash. I always wanted a '97 30th anniversary edition Z, white with the orange stripes and white wheels like this one.

a big block is a Chevrolet V8 that was produced in the from 1958 to 1963

a small block is also a Chevy engine that is small (relatively) for a V8

cubic inches - to give you an idea the Chevy big blocks comes in

348 cubic inches or 5.7L

409 cubic inches or 6.7L

427 cubic inches or 7L

327 rat blower - a blower in a automobile application forces air into the heating and cooling parts of the motor

stock bottom end - all original parts or OEM, there are no after market parts the bottom part of that engine

Bro, all I know is that if I press the turbo button on my car, it goes faster. The red flames make it go faster too. I only wish I had done my research first and did yellow lightning bolts. Those make cars go faster.

A lass at work owned a Cerbera for 18 months.  It was in the garage for 16 months.  The last time she drove it, she span on a roundabout, hit a lampost and the B pillar somehow cut her leg off below the knee.

Apart from that though, she was pretty pleased with it

I have a question for you Muricans.

About 6 months ago, i was looking to buy a Mustang over here.  We had one as a rental when we were in the states a couple of years back and fell in love.

I found a few around the 5 year mark for about $30k.  Left hand drive of course.  None seemed quite right (I wanted a V8, preferably manual), so gave up and got a Jag instead.

Now we're on the verge of possibly moving to the states i've been looking into them, and it seems you can get a year old one for like $16k!!!  So why doesn't everyone drive round in Ford Mustangs over there??? You all seem to have those enormous pick-ups instead.

Yeah Mustangs are much cheaper here than they are over there. You could get a brand new base level GT here in the States for about $30k. On the truck issue, I guess its just a cultural thing especially in the South. It's like asking why Overeem eats horsemeat. He just does lol. I always owned trucks until just recently. Sometimes I had a car and truck at the same time, but there was always a truck in there somewhere. I do a lot of fishing, so that's a lot easier in a truck. I can't speak for everyone else though. I'll probably pick up an old beater pickup to have with the Challenger just for fishing and hauling things when I need it. Here's a list of all the vehicles I've owned in order:

'92 Camaro RS

'87 Chevy S-10 pickup (piece of crap)

'90 Chevy 1500 pickup (best vehicle I've ever owned)

'89 Ford Bronco 4x4

'91 Ford Probe (when gas was getting too expensive to drive the Bronco every day)

'06 Ford F-150 pickup (1st brand new vehicle)

'07 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup (bought used in '09 with almost no miles on it)

'12 Ram 1500 pickup (good truck)

'15 Dodge Challenger R/T

I got my driver's license in July of '98 when I turned 16, so 9 vehicles in 16 1/2 years. I plan on keeping the Challenger for a while, but if my past is any indication it may not happen lol. When I see something I like, I go get it.

Fair point.  I think pickups are cool as anything; i guess over here, the Mustang is viewed as unbelievably iconic.

I like this variation to the thread.  So here are my cars in order. Years are very approximate.

'87 Citroen 2CV (26 HP!!)

'89 Renault 5

Then i got a bit more serious...

'93 Vauxhall Senator 3.0 24v.  Drove it into a rock after three months

'93 Saab 9000 Turbo (most turbo-laggy car in the world ever, but worth the wait)

'96 Nissan 200SX.  Had it serviced and the garage drove it into a wall :(

'97 Nissan 200SX.  Most fun car i owned

'02 VW Bora Diesel (money was tight...)

'04 Volvo V50 T5 (fun at traffic lights with boy racers)

'09 Jaguar XFS

Next car has to be a Mustang. Has to be.

I remember seeing this article in Motor Trend a while back about a performance themed V60 they were considering making. Pretty sweet.

Yeah, the V60 is the "spiritual" successor.

I had a flint grey volvo estate. Very dull...but it had 220HP, which is a lot for these shores.  Kept getting raced by kids in their golf GTi's...they were a bit surprised.

Wondering what is the best car you dudes have driven?  I used to source our UK company car fleet so got shlipped some nice demos in my time.  Nicest ever was a BMW 740d - every extra under the sun including HUD.  Felt like James Bond

No a Ford fan myself. Some of the mustangs are sweet. But I'll take the Camaro over a mustang anyday.
JMHO.

This x1000.

Get a Camaro over Mustang. My Z28 is able to keep up with Mustangs that are 10 years newer, Camaro will always be superior!

But I'm biased, so there's that too.

Hmm, interesting.  If i make it over there in the next couple of months I will check out the Camaro.  If we end up stuck over here though, it will have to be a mustang i think - they're doing a RHD version

Now we're on more familiar territory!
I reckon on a twisty b Road none of the cars I've seen on this thread could live with your lotus.

You sure about that tvr though m8? awesome cars. .. when they work.

its one of those things... i really want one and until i scratch that itch i will always be wanting one.. I plan to buy a good one with a recent engine rebuild for about 20k with warranty on the engine and in good order. if you buy one for sub 15k then you are asking for trouble. They are super cars and whilst they might be within the realms of normal men to purchase one. the maintenance is still supercar level and you need to be ontop of that. 0-60 in 3.9 secs and 0-100 in 8.4 is rather quick for a 14year old car. Although with the lotus you get maximum fun at all times at any speed and dont even need to be going fast.

Best car I've driven, or at least the most fun, was a new (at the time) '99 Saleen S351 Mustang. I worked at a Ford dealer washing cars when I was in high school. When we sold a new car I got to go fill it up with gas. I took the extra long route to the gas station that day lol. 495 horsepower with a 6 speed manual in a lightweight (by today's standards at least. 3300 lbs) car. 100x better than the stock GT in both acceleration and especially handling. 17 year old me was in heaven. Looked like this one:

Niiiiice.

I had a meeting with Audi once, and because we'd just given them a nice contract, they said we've got a nice surprise for you for the weekend.  I cruised up there thinking they would maybe lend me an A5 for the weekend or something and they then dropped the bombshell that the dealer boss had agreed to let me take their R8 demo for the weekend.

...then our rep gets a call, comes off the phone looking quite sad....some idiot had reversed into a wall and damaged the lights and it had to be whisked away to be fixed.

I never did get my turn :(

Aw, man. That sucks! If you end up in the States, I highly recommend the Challenger. Big 'Murican car with big power, rides really well, decent mileage, and very comfortable for long drives. Plus, it just plain looks cool. If you can afford the Scat Pack with the 392 Hemi, even better. They start in the high $30k range. Mine is just a regular R/T with the 5.7 but it's still crazy fun to drive. I felt cramped in the Camaro and Mustang (especially Mustang), but the Challenger fit just right.

You'd be surprised at what my little sports sedan can do on a twisty road. That thing hugs curves like no other!

BMWs, bruh. The ultimate driving machine. No American or Asian car has felt as smooth as my two little Bimmers.
