Dinamo was like 10 years undefeated in ukrania, that says a lot aout their league. ShevshenGOAT was indeed a goat even though he played for chelsea :P

Batistuta was one of my favorite players growing up. And the reason I like fiorentina since then.

My favourite Shevchenko memories are in the 2005 CL final....Dudek double save and then missing the penalty that gave us the trophy.

Just writing that has covered me in goose-bumps from head to toe....

No, that was 2000-2001 season - we won the FA cup, league cup and Uefa cup.

We were actually garbage in the league in 2005 - only finished 5th.  It was a miracle what Benitez did that season and one of the reasons he is still one of our best loved managers in recent times.

hmmm.. i thought the triple/treble is that you also have to win the PL right?

like FA,CL and PL

There's been talk of Rangers and Celtic playing in the PL for years - problem is the rest of the Scottish PL gets crowds of about 400 (including people's dogs), so it would instantly fold.  I think we'll go to some kind of a European super-league within the next 10 years anyway.

Wouldn't be as good now SPL isnt the same standard no. 10 years ago would have made sense we had possibly the best striker in the world and a great team around him. I hate the huns but they also had a good team around then.

Both pulled in 50,000 each game easy would have been great for Scottish football as it would have levelled the playing field removing those two back then.

At that point one of them would have finished in the top 4 within the first couple years.

Good idea of using "futbol" to avoid any confusion lol.

This enrages me lol their is only one football not that mutant form of rugby Americans play should have another name

Lol, that's why a lot of people call it the paper treble....

We've never done the proper treble, one British team did it in 1998-9, but I can't remember their name.

Anyway, I'm going to shut up about United now in case I end up with egg on my face on Sunday.

On Sunday, if Falcao plays i'll be rooting for ManU, if not I'll be rooting for Lpool to see if LVG gets sacked :P

LMAO

i understand.. you have the same "thing" with the "hattrick" and the "fake" hattrick

ik hope LFC wins and LVG won`t get sacked. he has to be there next year to finish what he started

or the downfall of Man U or winning the PL and CL with Man U ( what is more logical IMO )

Hattrick Kane

He could become the best striker we ever had, and we have had a few good ones

I've always preferred Barca over Real Madrid and Messi over Ronaldo.

Even though I haven't been watching futbol that long, I made this decision fairly quick.

Let's hope this El Classico is actually a classic unlike most of the tetchy, turgid affairs we had when Mourinho was in charge.

Barca are playing way better than RM at the moment, but I have no real preference over who wins.

Yeah, i agree.

I still can't really put my finger on what's so great about him.

Like he's not fast, not particularly skillful, doesn't have a piledriver finish.  Guess he's just incredibly clinical and full of confidence at the moment plus two good feet and good in the air.  Definitely young player of the season, arguably player of the season.

Btw, that's not meant as an insult - it's a bit like Lampard - he wasn't amazing at any one particular thing, just very good at all aspects, if you catch my drift.

He is similar to Sheringham, but quicker.

He is quicker than you think but he has football intelligence like Sheringham had

That's a good analogy.  I'm glad there's place in the modern game for someone who isn't just a big lump who can run fast.
