These Chippewa boots are awesome.  They were a good buy.  I think I will have them for years.

Soup is waking up next to some sloot he can't identify right now. Putting his comfy boots on and sliding out of her apartment quietly.

The time for my Doc Martens are coming to an end. They lasted me about 15 months. Not bad, not spectacular either. I have worn no other footwear to work in that time. I have at times worn them for shifts that have lasted as long as 16 hours. They've been decent. They still look OK, but they no longer provide that sort of comfort.

So I'm gonna have to get another pair of boots. I could go with another pair of Doc Martens. I could go for another pair of the Chippewas that I wear when I'm not at work, except in black. I'm also considering some other boots.

Here's what I'm thinking:

-Carolina, Engineer boots
- Justin, Wellington boots
- some sort of American made harness boots
- Springing for a pair of $300 Red Wings, either the Iron Rangers or the Mocs, in black
- another pair of Doc Martens
- another pair of Chippewas, but in black

All of these are American-made, except for the Doc Martens.

We can get them. I just checked I want their website. They look very nice, like something that would give a well-tailored suit that bold, daring edge. They are a few hundred dollars over my budget though.

I think those Stuart Top Boots are the best looking goddamn boots I've ever seen in my life.

They're very well known over here, like I said they are fantastic quality and should be considered an investment because of their longevity and style. If a $300 pair lasts you 3 years or so, these boots could potentially last much longer with some general care, and a re heeling and protective sole every couple of years.

The same could be said for some of the others you mentioned as well, just depends on what you are looking for.

Even 300 bucks is steep for me. The Red Wings are in that range, but the rest of them are under 200 dollars, and that's probably the way I'm going to go. At least for work boots.

Anyway, if I can get something better going and I take care of a couple things, if I decide to treat myself in the by-and-by ( and I sometimes do, ) I'm absolutely going to get a pair of those Stuart's. Thanks for turning me on to these boots.

I've got a pair of Redwing steal toes. Had them for about 8 yrs and they weren't cheap. I think i paid 2 fiddy.

Only pair of boots i own. I barely wear them now though. Last boots i owned b4 that was a pair of timberlane's but that was over a decade ago.

I had some great jump boots back in the army. Remember the issued boot socks really bad, my feet never got you soon. After a year in I bought some jump boots. They really, really comfortable. I don't know what brand they were, but hopefully they were Corcoran's, because that's what I plan on getting tomorrow. I need some new boots for work.

I prefer military style boots.  I wish I can buy the pair I was issued while on my last command.

I'm sure there's a way you can. Do you remember what the brand was?

Personally, I really disliked the boots I was issued. They never got comfortable. When I finally ponied up the cash and bought the jump boots, it was a huge upgrade. I don't remember what brand they were, but I think they were the Corcoran's that I'm going to look at today.

I'm not going to lie, these are awesome. And I've been on the fence about whether not I should get some tactical boots for work. But I don't think they are going to be dressy enough. I'm starting up at this busy martini bar in a few days, so sadly reconsidering getting boots at all, considering maybe going with some Rockports. But I think the shininess of the leather and the cap toe on the Corcoran's give it a dressed up look.

I went to Hampton shoe, where they only sell American made, union made boots. I got a pair of Chippewas from them A little over a year ago. Anyway, they didn't have the jump boots in my size. They didn't have any boots that I liked in my size.

I walked into a Red Wing store and found exactly what I needed. It wasn't one of the heritage models. It was something from their work boot line and it looks like a combat boot with a six-inch height and a padded collar. They are also steel toe and slip resistant. They are not even broken in yet and they are probably the most comfortable pair of anything that I've ever worn on my feet. Man, they look great. What's more, they were a discontinued model and I got them for $100. That's right, a pair of red wings for $100.

Even 300 bucks is steep for me.

Wait a minute. I thought you male so.much money in tips and your manager material and blah blah blah.

Now your saying you can't afford 300$ for a pair of boots that shouldn't 3 years.

That's 100$ a year.
$8.50 a month
0.33 cents a day.

You can't afford 0.33 cents a day. Your tips must suck man. I would reconsider how good you think you really are at your job when 3 dimes and a nickle is out of your price range.

You're an idiot. Everybody knows that personal finances don't work like that. Now I question if you're actually an adult. Anyway, I don't care how the math works out, there's a whole lot of other things in my life that I need to take care of before I can think that springing $300 for a pair of boots is an easy thing.

And while the leather may last and the sole may hold up, and aggressive guy weighing anywhere between 220 and 240 (depending on how much I have been eating and how frequently I've been working out,) doing 10 hour shifts behind the bar is going to wear through the support of any boot far before three years is up, I don't care how much those damn things cost.

Anyway, I actually did walk into a red wing store, believing that I would have to spend $300 for a pair of boots, as that's usually what they cost. If you read the post above you, you would've realized that. So $300 is not out of my range. I just don't want to spend that much. I was very fortunate to find a great pair of boots from them at a much lower price.

By the way champ, what kind of boots do you have?

At the end of the night whenever I take the trash out to the alley, there are plenty of rats, broken glass bottles and hypodermic needles. And tipsy customers knock over their drinks all the time. At a busy place, this will happen several times a night. Half the time I won't even know until later on that night when I'm cleaning up and if I fail to spot it, I will find myself stepping on it.

Whenever I work with another bartender, it's usually some chick who recently dropped out of beauty school because it's too mentally taxing. They are dropping **** all the time. They break, on average, about five glasses a night and spill something all over me every other shift. About a third of them are dumb enough to wear heels behind the bar and every single one of them step on my feet 100 times per night.

But mostly I wear them because they last, they get me comfortablly through a shift ( bartenders don't take breaks. I do not get a chance to get off my feet for even five minutes throughout any of this,) and they look a little edgier than dress shoes. Half the places out there, bartenders are not supposed to wear sneakers. Dress shoes are really hit and miss as far as comfort. Very few of them have traction. The ones that do like, Shoes for Crews or Rockports, look pretty lame.

I think you miss the point. If you make the type of tips you say you do, there would be no problem going out and buying a 300$ pair of boots. There wouldn't even be a consideration to the price.

Me, I have a pair of Sorels for the deep winter with a rating of -100
I have a pair of bafins for lighter winter.
I have a some cheap pair of rubber boots for sloshing around in water and muddy trenches
I have been breaking in a pair of Helly Hansens that I wanted to try as I like their product.
I have a par of caterpillars I liked.

I have a pair of Dakotas with the Met guard for when at the mines.
I have a pair of steel toed sneakers for when I am in an office setting and not on a construction site

I have a pair of Harley Davidson flat toed riding boots

Then my old ones.

Do you want to know what pants I wear as well?

Maybe what underwear I find most comfortable or will you just leave Vert to those type of questions?
