Argentina football fan dies after being pushed from stand

TELEMMGLPICT000126151289-large_trans_NvB

An Argentine football fan has died of head injuries - two days after being pushed from a stand by an angry crowd who thought he was a rival supporter.

Emanuel Balbo, 22, had reportedly quarrelled with a man during Saturday's derby between his Belgrano team and the visiting Talleres in the northern city of Cordoba.

Witnesses said the man had shouted that Mr Balbo was a disguised Talleres fan. He was then pushed over the edge of a stand.

He fell onto concrete stairs from a height of about five metres (16ft).

He was taken to hospital with severe head injuries, where doctors declared him brain dead.

Four people have been arrested over the attack, with the Argentine Football Association calling for "those responsible for this inconceivable assault" to be brought to justice.

You really shouldn't go to some games because of the animals in the crowd. Especially in some countries (Portugal included)

A very underrated team in my opinion. Very solid squad and that young forward french kid (Mbanne ?) is the new Henry. That kid is going places.

Well this season has turned into a bit of a damp squib.  Title decided with 2 games to go, all teams relegated (sorry NoCake) with 2 games to go.  The "battle for 4th" is something only Arsenal fans get excited about....especially as the stage is now set for us to end our season with another spectacularly bad performance against a bottom team and allow Arsenal to claim another 4th place trophy.

The only thing left to cheer for is Ajax in the Europa league.  War Freddie!

Kolo Toure, Jozo Simunovic and Mikael Lustig all have the chance to become ‘invincible's’ for the second time.

Kolo Toure was, of course, part of the famous Arsenal squad from 2004 who lifted the English Premier League title without losing a game.

Jozo Simunovic helped Dinamo Zagreb wrap up their tenth title in a row during the 2014/15 MAXtv Prva Liga (Croatian First Football League). The 22-year-old was part of  the side who won 26 of their 36 league matches, drawing the other 10, as they pipped rivals Rijeka to the title by 13 points.

Mikael Lustig has been a key player for Celtic this season his performances under Brendan Rodgers earned him a new contract at the club, seeing him sign on until 2017. But back in his days at Rosenborg, the Swede was part of a side who remained unbeaten throughout their domestic season.

If Rodgers can keep this team together I can see Celtic being dominant for many years to come.

Hopefully he can sign a few more players so we can be a bit more competitive in the champions league.

I have heard Lucas Levia is a potential signing.

Marco Silva couldn't keep Hull up but he still signed with Porto. Let's hope for a return of our glory days!

Real Madrid have announced a deal to sign 16-year-old forward Vinicius Junior from Flamengo in July 2018 for a reported £38m.

A statement released by Real says the club will own the rights to the Brazilian from July 2018, when the player turns 18.

But he will remain at Flamengo until July 2019 unless both sides agree otherwise.

If Rodgers can keep this team together I can see Celtic being dominant for many years to come.

Hopefully he can sign a few more players so we can be a bit more competitive in the champions league.

I have heard Lucas Levia is a potential signing.

Assuming that Celtic weren't parking the bus to get draws, and diving to keep their unbeaten record going, it's much more impressive than Arsenal's "Invincibles"
