careful what you ask for

I would not mind Portugal winning the olympics, unless they play colombia, my only problem with Portugal is how much of a Diva Ronaldo is, the rest of the team and the portuguese people in general are nice people :)

Also back to the topic, the EPL will be HUGE this year, both in and outside the field, with Mourinho, Klopp, Guardiola, Zlatan, etc. it will be fun to watch even the press conferences (just kidding maybe the youtube clips :P)

I cannot see a clear favorite for the title right now and I guess we won't get a clear impression until halfway or so at least.

It's arguable that Mourinho, Klopp and Guardiola are the top three European managers (on reputation anyway) atm moment; will be interesting to see which of them is all that.

Speaking of which, I firmly believe that Pogba is over-rated and will be an utter can this year, as will Zlatan.

Meanwhile Pepe is also totally over-rated and has never had a real challenge.  Basically, it's a two horse race between Leicester and Liverpool.

I'd put Simeone on the top before Klopp (and also Mourinho and Guardiola for all that matter) , but I know where you're coming from.

Pogba was overrated when they said he costed 60 million last year, now imnagine 100 and whatever they paid for him. SMH. Zlatan is not a can but he is not as good as he thinks he still is, age will catch up to him this year most likely

Pepe is indeed overrated, lived of the pinacle of Xavi, Iniesta and a young hungry messi, then went and destroyed Heynkes project and this year will be probably exposed at last when he wins no title at all.

Conte and Chelsea could be contenders this year i reckon.(and i strongly dislike chelsea)

Possiby, but I will NEVER forgive him for what he did to us in 1998.

Renato Sanches, Andre Gomes and Joao Mario sold to Bayern, Barcelona and Inter, respectively. Each for more than 40 million.

Hopefully they become even better to attack that 2018 WC.

Schalke 04 is about to sign Konopljanka from Sevilla for 14-16m.

Bundesliga is stacked 16-17.

Great player but Bayern being so dominant ruins the fun.

Leicester signed Algerian striker Slimani from Sporting CP and he is really good and relentless.

I would like to see them play Vardy, Slimani, Mahrez and Musa all at once. Would be a nightmare for the opposing defense

Too many European leagues have one or two overly dominant sides.  I'm of course biased, but that's what I love about the EPL; you very rarely start the season with a one or two horse race.

Shame we're so crap in Europe.....wonder if now all the GOAT managers and all the money is in England if they'll start doing a bit better in the Champions League.

Edit: Just in case I sounded biased I thought I'd check.

In official betting odds, in Germany the 6th favourites are Schalke at 100/1.  In Italy, Fiorentina are the 6th favourites at 80/1.  Then in the UK, 6th favourite are Spurs at 22/1.  At the other end of the scale, 6th favourite in Spain is Villareal at 500/1 and even more ridiculously St Johnstone are the 6th favourites in Scotland at 750/1!

All that said, the UK odds are clearly wrong; no way that bunch of cans at Spurs will get anywhere near the title.

right Porto were utter ****e the other night.  2 lucky goals from Sporting but that doesnt excuse Porto's horrendous midfielding.

Fred Flink Stoned must be smoking some of the strongest chronic out there if he thinks Everton will win the league,  lucky if they get european football...

The mighty Heart of midlothian were able to keep hold of Calum Paterson after telling the minnows of Wigan to **** right off 4 times.

Prediction Man city to win league

Hearts to finish top 3 and (unfortunately) Benfica to win liga Nos with Porto struggling to obtain 2nd place

you forgot to take into account league size (which in theory should make St Johnstones odd of winning higher as there are only 12 teams) but yeah,  i wouldnt waste a penny on the Perthshire team...

I'm embarrassed by the lack of quality of our football. Benfica probably has this in the bag. Sporting sold Slimani and I don't see who's going to be their goal scorer now

4 straight for Benfica... UGH

just putting this out their for you Bubba http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37207612

Scotland top of the table after thrashing mighty Malta 5-1. England were lucky to score a 95th minute winner (evern though only 4 mins of extra time was added on - corrupt referee much?) against minnows Slovakia.

Discuss

Well considering big Sam was second choice to Roy, limping home against Slovakia in added time actually exceeded my expectations.

That said, I'm fairly confident that we'll qualify comfortably and then get knocked out at the group stages by el Salvador.

Plus most of our fans will get killed by Russian ultras.

if you start training MMA down your local gym now you will be able to kick in (at least) a 12 year old Russian kid's head by the time the world cup comes around .

By the way, apologies for not giving you enough credit for beating the 157th ranked team in the world playing with 9 men.  They should declare a national holiday in Scotland.  I'll have a word with wee Nicola.

your sarcasm will be void when your team is beaten by a team ranked 50th in the world ;) (better secure the Wembley goalposts)

Lol, I thought you lot were still banned after you desecrated the hallowed turf last time (that is so...typically Scottish has to be my favourite commentary of all time by the way).

Like I said though, England under a manager who was second choice to Hodgson do not inspire much confidence, especially as big Sam doesn't tell the players where to play. You'll probably play us off the park.

Could have been worse - Steve Bruce was in the mix ????

It's a sad day when the greatest game on the planet has not even got off the page and is being comfortably outclassed by the threads about Pokemon and Poker.

Biggest rivalry in club football today.  Come on you scousers!!

Gonna be HUGE. Ozpride gets as rustled by Liverpool losing as he does when Bisping wins so I know who I'm cheering on......

Lol, you don't fool me.

No self respecting football fan cheers for a united club managed by mourinho.

Thank you for your support.
