I'd rather be friends with the guy who hasn't been screwing me over for decades too. Sounds logical.

If you think Canada has been screwing you over for decades, you believe Trump at face value and not the factual numbers of the actual trade between the countries.
The US has a trade surplus in 2017 when you actually account all the goods and services. While Trump is correct on high tariffs on dairy, it is alone because Wisconson alone produces more dairy products than all of Canada. They can flood the market and eliminate our industry. While you can always be pissed because of the tariffs, you would also have to then look at the ones your country has on Canada.

The end result is probably the smallest of margins (10 odd billion surplus for the US) over around near 700 billion in trade between two of the most integrated economies in the world.

The tariffs alone on steel is reporting will cost American jobs in or around 400,000 in losses, if the Auto sector gets some, those numbers will rise upwards of 2.6 million (Or so the number cruncher s figure)

Meanwhile China bends you guys over for a few hundred billion alone, and you smile at the walmart garbage at rock bottom prices...

Trump/Kim sign agreement at end of summit.

https://www.npr.org/...it-in-singapore

President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a document at the conclusion of a day of meetings in a historic summit in Singapore, with the president promising that denuclearization would come "very, very soon" and Kim announcing that "the world will see a major change."

One of the first questions challenged Trump calling Kim talented.  Trump gave an excellent answer.

The next question was about Otto Warmbier.  Trump gave an excellent answer.

See, you're coming around. You understand that Trump didn't make up numbers off the top of his head, he listed a specific tariff, and pointed out (correctly, I might add) that we're getting screwed by unequal tariffs.

Not sure what China producing goods the rest of the world cannot provide for pennies on the dollar has to do with North Korea, but... He did the right thing by bringing Kim to the table. Unless you've gone Full Pelosi, and have taken the angle that WW3 is a better option?

Btw, score one for me when I consistently pointed out that Kim ALWAYS struck out at America when we conducted war games with South Korea. It was always our provocation that emboldened him.

Trump announced we will cease said war games with South Korea. How hard was that?

I always felt like anybody who wanted to look at it objectively could easily understand NK's side of the story.

We would chit a brick if Russia was holding war games with Cuba in the Gulf of Mexico. That is exactly the same thing we were doing with South Korea in the Sea of Japan.

I see it two ways because I dont trust North Korea and I wont till a few years go by and there is real progress. Right now there is just a lot of talk and even just a few weeks ago those talks were not happening because they still didnt agree.

So pulling the troops out I dont think N Korea would march. I can see talks breaking down over something stupid and tensions going back to what they were. But I dont see them marching even if talks go bad down the road.

That said, if there is some sort of attack, the US, and its allies will be bombing North Korea within 5 hours. So Troops are not going to mean much anyway. Warfare is fought on the ground, but nothing like it was back in the Korean war.

I think the worst thing that would come from it is possibly alienating Japan and South Korea. It sounded like the idea of stopping the war games and removing the troops was never mentioned to either of them. ( I agree with stopping the war games as it would be counter productive to be practicing destroying the people your supposed to be in peace talks with)

The troops, I think removing before any concrete concessions is just a give away to the fat asian without anything in return.

But talks will go on and we will see. At this point I would say that eyes should shift towards China and their build up with their new Islands and Military bases. At east while talks continue in good faith.

Pompeo met with him numerous times. If you strictly paid attention to the events, and turn off the media bias, everything was fine the entire time. Anybody that bought the media narrative that this was somehow coming apart at some point is a sheep. Donald Trump wasn't going to embarrass himself or the country by showing up over there and leaving without a deal. It was done from the first minute he got on the plane.

I meant how it was on, then it was off, then there were ongoing discussions, then it was on again. That shows that the frame work even a few weeks ago was not agreed upon between both sides.

Of course there has been a plan in place ever since the deal to meet was struck. Pompeo I would say did 95% of the work, and Trump came in and finished off this portion of the events. Hats off to both of them, its a hell of a start.

But the proof is in the pudding. So far there is willingness on both sides, but North Korea has played the game before of bending for ease of concessions and then going right back to what they had been doing. Fat Asian jr being the only difference now. So now will be the time to see if he is like his dad or if McDonalds and some strippers is more up his alley.

When he first took over there was hopes because of his previous actions that he may break from the mindset and open talks early. Then he started killing off high ranking people and family and the hope went out the window on him.

Un lived in Switzerland and studied under a false identity when he was a teenager. He is by no means this shut-in dictator that his father and grandfather were. Also, I'm pretty sure none of his predecessors ever blew up their nuclear testing facilities on live television. lol

At some point, there's a whole bunch of people who are going to have egg on their faces. Tons of people predicted the world was going to end under Trump. First it was a World War with Russia. Then it was supposed to be North Korea.. Turns out, neither are imminent, and certainly not on the agenda of Donald Trump himself. I can tell you still have some sort of bias against the guy, but even you are going to have to admit at some point that you were wrong.

Oh I think Trump is a moron. Hands down. But that doesn't say much, the guy running my country is a cuck and a moron
But theres some things I agree with Trump on and others where I think he doesn't have a clue.
His actions help your country but also hurt your country and his supporters turn a blind eye to it while believing every bit of **** that is served to them.

Time will tell how good or bad he does. I remember Bush Sr was starting world war 3, Clinton was going to collapse the country, Bush was the absolute worst, then Obama was the absolute worst, now Trump is the absolute worst.

But now people will say Bush Sr was ok, Clinton was a womanizer but the country did alright under him, people miss Bush Jr, and Obamas hate will falter over time as well.

But if there is something that happens that I think Trump is being a dummy with and it turns out I was wrong. Then I will be wrong and Trump did something good. Id like to think I am always right 100% of the time, but I know I am wrong like every other person around on things.
I fall Right of Center politically. I think most politicians are full of **** and I dont buy the **** no matter how well either side tries to sell it, Trumps included.

I did not vote for Trump, nor Hillary. I live in Illinois, where my vote is essentially meaningless, so I didn't waste my time.

I was skeptical of Trump to start, but realisticially, he's done more to benefit the American people than the past four of five presidents combined. One of the things that really put him over for me is how he bounces from topic to topic, and actually gets things accomplished. I greatly enjoy his focus on fiscal responsibility also. Looking to cut out useless spending at every corner, including immediately pointing out that our war games, and housing soldiers in South Korea is expensive.

Meanwhile, the Senate and Congress sit around on their hands all day, interfering in the progress of our country. Then some ***hole like Chuck Schumer comes out and says we gained nothing from the North Korean deal. It's like he can't remember the people climbing in sewers in Hawaii during the false alarm, because the media had them so afraid that we were on the brink of nuclear war with North Korea.

They don't even realize that type of behavior is what's turning more people on to Trump, and forcing out politicians who have been there for decades. Sanford most recently is a prime example. People aren't going to stand by and watch lifelong politicians obstruct progress anymore. Either get with the program, or get out.

See I dont think he is fiscally responsible though.
The debt from Government is higher now than it was the last year under Obama. Add in all his Cabinets willingness to spend a ****load (Though that isnt directly related to Trump, but he drained the swamp and added more swamp creatures)
The tax breaks while very politically friendly to the people, is just putting a few hundred bucks to each person on a maxed out credit card.

His golfing is extreme and costs a fortune for all the people around him alone.

His hardline stance on tariffs (While still early so I wont say this has happened or will happen, but it could happen) could cost up to 2.6 million jobs in the first year, add would make the markets go crazy if the hardline stance stays at all cost.

I do agree with him on immigration. While the way he goes about it is stupid, a secure border shouldn't be a partisan issue and the Democrats love those free votes (Liberals up here are doing the same ****). I say spend the 20 odd billion and build the wall, it wont stop 100% of the illegals, but it will put a huge dent on the crossings and wasted money through all the bureaucratic **** each one gets.

I dont mind that he is trying to make it easier by toning down some regulations for business, but this is where I think he is a moron buy just removing anything and everything because his golf buddy told him its bad.

I think his focus on bringing up America is a great thing. I do think he stumbles with it like the tariffs, but he has had success in bringing jobs and money back to the country. (though not like they want you to believe)

The stock markets under him have continued to rise, and the uneasiness of his erratic behavior has all but dissipated, which is great for it as they have the belief that he is working for them and even his stumbles only put blips on the charts.

So to me, he has good, and he is dumb as ****. But he is doing a better job for your country, even in the ****, than the dummy running mine is doing for Canada

Thats what I mean by the on and off again. Negotiations of course continued through with Pompeo to get it back on track. But 3 weeks prior, there were some tensions and people not on the same page.
