Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker Booked

skysports-whyte-v-parker-dillian-whyte_4

Dillian Whyte will face Joseph Parker at The O2 on July 28, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

'The Body Snatcher' is within touching distance of a shot at one of the world heavyweight champions and has bravely agreed to a high-stakes clash against Parker, the former WBO title holder.

Both fighters have just a sole defeat on their records, against Anthony Joshua, with Whyte losing via seventh-round stoppage to his British rival in December 2015, while Parker's WBO reign was ended by a points loss to AJ in a unification clash in March.

Who you got?

Hard choice, I would be tempted to go for 6 and 12, probably better combinations you could pick but a guy who could float around the ring like Loma and drop the bomb like Frazier would be a terrifying fighter.

What would you go for?

6 and 10

just so i would be able to escape the guys who are trying to beat me down

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez to face Gennady Golovkin in rescheduled rematch on September 15th

skysports-boxing-saul-canelo-alvarez-gen

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin will finally face each other in a rescheduled rematch on September 15, according to the Mexican's promoter Oscar De La Hoya.

Golovkin (38-0-1-KO34) and Alvarez (49-1-2-KO34) produced a controversial draw in their first meeting on September 16, with many favouring the work of the undefeated Kazakh.

Both sides have been locked in fierce negotiations in an attempt to revive the rematch, while Golovkin was stripped of his IBF title for failing to agree to a mandatory defence against Sergiy Derevyanchenko.

Golden Boy reportedly issued Golovkin a final offer of a 57.5-42.5 per cent split in favour of Alvarez and an agreement appears to have been finally reached between the two camps after De La Hoya announced the rematch on social media on Wednesday evening.

"I'm happy to inform that we have a fight September 15!!!! #CaneloGGG2," wrote the former six-weight world champion.

Tyson Fury says negotiations over a fight with Deontay Wilder in December are "very close to being done".

The former heavyweight champion returned to the ring in June with a stoppage victory over Sefer Seferi at the Manchester Arena and takes on Francesco Pianeta in Belfast on August 18.

Fury has vowed to reclaim the world title and a fight with Wilder - the WBC heavyweight champion - would be only the 29-year-old's third fight in nearly three years.

Fury made the claim in a post on his Twitter page on Monday, saying: "I can confirm that me and Deontay Wilder are in negotiations. [It is] very close to being done.

skysports-deontay-wilder-boxing_4275101.

"I can reveal that negotiations have been very strong for December. We are almost done with this deal.

"But I won't be looking over Francesco Pianeta. He is going to give me the right fight and the right work to prepare me for Wilder."

Who Should Manny Pacquiao Fight Next?

mannypacquiao-cropped_7xtvp6uegblm1cz92h

Manny Pacquiao is a technician with unbelievable speed, a blur of fists coming at his opponents from every angle. Or at least he was that person in his prime. He’s slower now, though personally, I don’t believe you can write off his win against Lucas Matthysse as beating a “shot” fighter. He went in, he looked much closer to his old self than anybody predicted, and now he wants to fight again.

The question is who do you put him against next? The 39-year-old is 60-7-2 with 39 knockouts to his name, and any fight is going to result in a big payday for him and his promoters, regardless of opponent.

The Contenders

  • Terence Crawford
  • Errol Spence
  • Keith Thurman
  • Jeff Horn
  • Mikey Garcia
  • Danny Garcia
  • Amir Khan
  • Shawn Porter
  • Adrien Broner

With Manny not having too many fights left in him who do you think he should take on?

_102735723_gettyimages-1006857886.jpg

Dillian Whyte (24-1, 17 KOs) told BoxingScene.com he is aiming to fight again in mid-December.

The WBC Silver champion and number one contender cemented his status as one of the world’s best with a 12-round unanimous decision over former WBO champion Joseph Parker on Saturday night in London.

The fight, which saw Parker hit the canvas twice (once questionably) and Whyte once, was a roughhouse affair with the Brit doing whatever it took to impose his style on the Samoan-New Zealander. Whyte is now a strong contender to face unified champion Anthony Joshua next year in a rematch of their 2015 British and Commonwealth title affair.

In the meantime, someone must be found to fill the gap before Whyte’s inevitable world title opportunity.

“I’d like to fight the likes of Manuel Charr,” Whyte told ‘Scene. Charr, the WBA’s secondary world champion defends his title for the first time against Fres Oquendo on September 29 in Germany.

“Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua are going to be tied up, so Manuel Charr is the kind of opponent I’d be looking at which would be great. Get that fight, it’s a big fight.”

Bellew vs Usyk: Tony Bellew believes fighting Oleksandr Usyk now looks likely

skysports-tony-bellew-bomber_4390932.jpg

Tony Bellew says his showdown with Oleksandr Usyk is "inevitable" - but it has to happen this year.

The former WBC cruiserweight holder's team have begun negotiations for a fight that will see all four recognised titles on the line.

Eddie Hearn met Usyk's promoter Alexander Krassyuk in Paris, on Monday and Bellew, who is back in training, is confident he will get the chance to take on the unbeaten, undisputed champion.

"The first meeting was good and it looks inevitable at this stage," he exclusively told Sky Sports.

"Things can change though, you just don't know how it all lands. We'll see. We haven't agreed a venue yet and other things, but it's looking likely now.

"It is moving in the right direction. We've got to agree something and get it written down on paper and we'll take it from there. Eddie is happy, I am happy and there has been no major demands on my part, as I don't feel there needs to be.

"Without sounding like a big head I've done alright out of the game; financially, I've won a world title and I have done everything I could have possibly dreamed of - and a bit more.

skysports-oleksandr-usyk-wbss_4368397.jp

Usyk has all four cruiserweight belts to his name

"So now I am chasing greatness. I dare to be great, are the words I am going to use."

Bellew admits it will be "a job" getting back down to the 200lbs cruiserweight limit but insists he is at his physical peak, following back-to-back wins over David Haye.

The Liverpudlian has already stated that facing Usyk will be his final fight but with Hearn pencilling in a November date, the 35-year-old will hang up his gloves rather than be left in limbo again.

"It has to be done this year, this year is my last year in the sport," he said.

"I won't be fighting in 2019, I'm done at the end of this year. I should've been done in March this year.

skysports-haye-bellew_4302074.jpg?201805

"My plan was always to fight David Haye and beat him on December 17 - but he pulled out. The plan was to beat him on December 17 then go out on a high, against Joseph Parker, winning the world title.

"David Haye pulled out, Anthony Joshua got matched with Joseph Parker and it just destroyed my plans. People will now look back in hindsight and say I would've beaten Parker.

"I think I would've schooled him, out-boxed him, and I honestly think I could've stopped him. But for me, personally, this [being the undisputed cruiserweight championn] is better than becoming a heavyweight world champion."

Floyd Mayweather says he is coming back to fight Manny Pacquiao this year

skysports-floyd-mayweather_4421613.jpg?2

Floyd Mayweather has claimed he will return to fight Manny Pacquiao this year, saying "another nine-figure pay-day is on the way".

Mayweather posted a video of the pair on his Instagram revealing the news of his comeback 13 months on from his knockout win over Conor McGregor in Las Vegas.

The post was captioned: "I'm coming back to fight Manny Pacquiao this year. Another nine-figure-pay-day on the way."

Pacquiao called out Mayweather following his world title win over Lucas Matthysse in July, but 'Money' refused the offer of a rematch, saying "like beating him once was not enough", instead seeking to play promoter for his long-standing rival.

"I can't knock Manny Pacquiao for what he wants to do, that's his prerogative," he told Fighthype.com.

"If he still wants to go out there and make money, be victorious that's his prerogative. You do whatever you want to do. I don't have nothing [sic] against Manny Pacquiao.

"I'm [going to] get on the phone with Pacquiao after this call see if we can put him in position. There's a lot of good competition out there that he could fight."
