Hmm I'm tempted to just take Rivera... Has he gotten a new opponent yet?

They are looking for a replacement but no one named yet. John Dodson volunteered but nothing confirmed. Stay tuned

Is Rivera fighting or not fighting??

Here is the only info I've found that seems recent. From wiki

Bryan Caraway was expected to face Jimmie Rivera at the event. However, Caraway pulled out of the bout on January 4 citing an undisclosed injury.[7] He was replaced by Marlon Vera.[8] Eventually, Rivera pulled from the fight as he felt going from a top-5 ranked fighter to an unranked one wouldn't make sense at that moment.[9][10]

I don't think Rivera is fighting so I'll take two picks now?

My replacement pick is: Joachim Christensen

Sorry Cole buddy, you don't get two picks in a row for a scrapped bout. If they matched someone else up against Rivera you could repick THAT fight. I don't imagine Axe is itching to get your picks though with this garbage card but keep that in mind for future bouts. The Velasquez bout last round is a good reference. If the Lauzon or Moraga (Axe's picks) bouts get scrapped, he doesn't make two in a row either.

Your pick is Christensen at this point. Axe is up.

If one of his picks gets scrapped i would let him pick again, it's only fair imo

If Axe has no issue with that (or wants Klose's opponent), obviously it will make no actual difference. But just be aware what I stated above is the official rule and you showed your hand a bit here.

If he contests, your pick is Christensen and Klose is available with Axe next up to pick.

If he agrees, you have Christensen and Klose with Axe next up to pick.

If Rivera pulled out and got replaced by someone or even if Rivera's opponent pulled out you would get to repick that bout.

Jimmie was being a jerk this time around.

So shouldn't you get to re pick if you get to re pick if one fighter gets replaced? Only seems fair.... Don't you think?

Maybe we can have a poll next time around to see what people would want to do in that situation. You know I'm always up for what works best for everyone. I think most times the match up picks are complete before a fight gets totally scrapped since a replacement is usually sought after up through fight week. It would be dicey giving someone two picks in a row and then have that original fighter get a new opponent for a potential 3 picks in a row in a worse case situation.

Historically, posters would have to take the bad luck when a fight they picked gets scrapped. I know Ian McCall ****ed juice over last tourney. I actually avoided picking Cain last round due to his injury prone ways.

I think picking Rivera when he was in the middle of juggling a new opponent was just a gamble that didn't pay off. If he doesn't pull out then you had a lock for sure. Unfortunately he went full entitled duck mode.

I just thought that when he got a replacement and he said yes to him that he would actually fight lol. Not change his mind 2 days later.

But I see what you are saying it could be a tough one
