Happy 25th Anniversary to Batman The Animated Series

SPGouhV.gif

Originally airing back in September 5th 1992. IGN listed The Animated Series as the best adaptation of Batman anywhere outside of comics, the best comic book television show of all time and the second best animated series of all time (after The Simpsons). Wizard magazine also ranked it #2 of the greatest animated television shows of all time (again after The Simpsons). TV Guide ranked it the seventh Greatest Cartoon of All Time. The widespread acclaim led the series to win four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Animated Program.

Fans have this series to thank for the creation of Harley Quinn.

Happy Birthday to arguably the greatest interpretation of Batman of all time.

Damn it I nearly forgot that this stay is also the birthday of someone comic book movies owe a hell of a lot to. Michael Keaton.

In 1989 Keaton brought Batman to life in a movie which is still one of the very best comic book movies ever.

He donned the cowl again 3 years later for Batman Returns and although it wasn't up to the same standard as his first outing it still stands the test of time.

Most recently this year he took a villainous turn as The Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

First Look At Evangeline Lilly As The Wasp

diwbvqyxuaaqgh3_-_h_2017.jpg

So here is the first look of Evangeline Lilly as the new wasp I'm hoping this is an under suit personally as the lack of any yellow is a bit annoying. It also marks a considerable change from the much more colourful costume that was teased as the end of Ant-Man. As seen below.

avispa-ant-man-pic3223-pxl2.jpg

However to be fair Marvel haven't been too bad with keeping to a modern take on heroes outfits. So I'm hoping for some yellow thrown in. What do you guys think? Ant-Man was one of the riskier chances Marvel has taken so far and did very well but will audiences want to go see another one? Will you be going to see the second?

I still haven't got bored of antman, yet.  One of my favourite Marvel films

Baskin Robbins always finds out.

Product placement done right, unlike Krispy Kreme in the Power Rangers movie.

I thought Birdman was good but I think it got a bit over hyped so I expected a little more when I watched it. Keaton & Norton were brilliant though.

Heimdall's eyes.

Nice I was originally thinking it was going to be Adam Warlock who had it in GOTG3 but that's to late for it to turn up.

I quite like the idea of Hela having it.

I still haven't got bored of antman, yet.  One of my favourite Marvel films

Excluding the first Avengers I would say its still Marvel's best family movie.

Apparently this is the order to watch all the Marvel stuff chronologically

PHASE 1

  • 1. Captain America: The First Avenger
  • 2. Agent Carter (season 1)
  • 3. Agent Carter (season 2)
  • 4. Agent Carter (one-shot on Iron Man 3 DVD)
  • 5. Iron Man
  • 6. Iron Man 2
  • 7. The Incredible Hulk
  • 8. The Consultant (one-shot on the Thor DVD)
  • 9. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer (one-shot on the Captain America: The First Avenger DVD)
  • 10. Thor
  • 11. Avengers Assemble
  • 12. Item 47 (one-shot on the Avengers Assemble DVD)
  • PHASE 2
    • 13. Iron Man 3
    • 14. All Hail the King (one-shot on the Thor: The Dark World DVD)
    • 15. Agents of SHIELD (season 1, eps 1-7)
    • 16. Thor: The Dark World
    • 17. Agents of SHIELD (season 1, eps 8-16)
    • 18. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
    • 19. Agents of SHIELD (season 1, eps 17-22)
    • 20. Guardians of the Galaxy
    • 21. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
    • 22. Daredevil (season 1)
    • 23. Agents of SHIELD (season 2, eps 1-10)
    • 24. Jessica Jones (season 1)
    • 25. Agents of SHIELD (season 2, eps 11-19)
    • 26. Avengers: Age of Ultron
    • 27. Agents of SHIELD (season 2, eps 20-22)
    • 28. Daredevil (season 2, eps 1-4)
    • 29. Luke Cage (season 1, eps 1-4)
    • 30. Daredevil (season 2, eps 5-11)
    • 31. Luke Cage (season 1, eps 5-8)
    • 32. Daredevil (season 2, eps 12-13)
    • 33. Luke Cage (season 1, eps 9-13)
    • 34. Ant-Man
    • 35. Agents of SHIELD (season 3, eps 1-10)
    • PHASE 3
      • 36. Agents of SHIELD (season 3, eps 11-19)
      • 37. Iron Fist (season 1)
      • 38. Captain America: Civil War
      • 39.Agents of SHIELD (season 3, eps 20-22)
      • 40. The Defenders (season 1)
      • 41. Agents of SHIELD (season 4, eps 1-6)
      • 42. Doctor Strange
      • 43. Agents of SHIELD (season 4, eps 7-8)

      • 46. Spider-Man: Homecoming
      • 47. Inhumans (season 1, eps 1-2)

And who says there is not too much super hero stuff being made.  This is just Marvel, in top of this DC are doing same, then other smaller franchises on top and new ones sprouting up everywhere.  Super Heros like the new Vampires/Werewolves from 10-15 years ago.  Too much of one thing.

I get where your coming from there is a lot of Marvel stuff but you have to be a major fan to watch it all of it. Hell im balls deep in this stuff and even I have never seen any of Agent Carter or any of the one shots.

Plus if you take the tv shows out which I know have a much smaller audience it doesn't look anywhere near as daunting.

I think Hela probably has it.

On a side note, I wonder if they are going to have Death and Hela be two separate people like in the comics. The reason I ask is that we have Thanos coming up with the Infinity Gauntlet and in the comics he was always in love with Death. We have not heard a peep out of anyone about Death being a part of the current MCU that I can think of. I'm wondering if they might make Hela also Death and have her and Thanos be a thing instead.

Stan Lee: Marvel ‘Working’ To Get X-Men & Fantastic Four Rights Back

c042b357050cd67d0eb5df42b9cd1aa5c39a6182

While appearing at the Wizard World Nashville, Mr Lee said: "Sooner or later, they're going to get the rights back to all our characters. They're working on it, and they're still making X-Men movies and stuff.

"Don't worry about it. You'll get more Marvel superheroes than you'll have time to look at in the next few years."

The news delighted some fans on social media.

I honestly don't really think Marvel need the X-Men its just too big a group to meld with their current roster. The prize I think Marvel and Disney are really after is Marvel's first family The Fantastic Four.

Yes I know, The Fantastic Four movies sucked but with Kevin Feige and Marvel creating the story and Marvel's now famously good casting decisions it could live up to its potential.

The real reason I want the FF is not for their own stories but the villains it will give Marvel access to some of their best villains.

  • Galactus the eater of worlds would be a very interesting adversary for the Avengers to come up against.
  • Silver Surfer not a villain but he could easily have his own movie to expand the cosmic side of the marvel universe or feature in a Thor, Catain Marvel or GOTG movie.
  • The real prize is Doctor Doom, often ranked as Marvel's greatest villain usually a Fantastic Four villain Doom easily has the potential to take on the entire Avengers single handily.

The only problem is that Noah Hawley revealed that he is developing a movie centred on Doctor Doom. Fox's contract with Marvel is basically as long as they make a new FF for film ever 7 or 8 years they hold on to rights, if not they revert back to Marvel.

I really like this idea. They really emphasize her line "Im the goddess of death!" in the trailer so I think you could be right. Can't see them having time in Infinity War to include and build up a decent backstory on this totally new character Lady Death so Hela is a smart bet for a replacement.

Watchmen HBO Series Begins Production

watchmen-hbo-tv-series.jpg?itok=uCegeAze

With The Leftovers having wrapped its final season to wild critical acclaim, Damon Lindelof is sticking around HBO to develop a Watchmen TV series. Yes, you read that right. Watchmen is finally getting the prestige cable drama that fans have wanted for as long as prestige cable drama has been a thing.

Lindelof's vision is apparently unrelated to a Watchmen series discussed by Zack Snyder (who directed the film version) and HBO back in 2015. It's not clear how far those particular talks got, or what the actual plan for it was. After all, with Snyder involved, it seems unlikely it would have been a re-adaptation of the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons graphic novel. According to Variety, the Lindelof version is "starting over from scratch" and has nothing to do with those previous discussions.

After some speculation about how far along these talks all got, it seems that things are now safely underway for the Watchmen TV series, with Mr. Lindelof posting a familiar trophy on Instagram...

21689863_351933308591889_451112664775104

The big question, then, is just what will this new series be? Is it another adaptation of the graphic novel? Zack Snyder's 2009 adaptation has its defenders, and visually it's certainly faithful enough to the comics, but it was admittedly limited by the constraints of a movie runtime. A TV series could spend more time exploring the flashbacks to the Minutemen era, or fleshing out some of the supplementary text material that happens in between the comic chapters. That Nite Owl trophy sure raises my Minutemen speculation antennae a little bit.

In 2013, DC Comics released a series of Watchmen prequels, appropriately titled Before Watchmen, from an assortment of creators not named Moore or Gibbons. They were met with what can charitably be described as a mixed response from fans and critics. Nevertheless, there's plenty of existing material to fuel a Watchmen series for several seasons. Then again, Lindelof and friends might not have to delve into the spinoffs to flesh out the graphic novel. There's enough going on in any one of the original's twelve chapters to fuel multiple episodes

Spoilers incoming for Batman: The Red Death #1, so if you haven't read the issue yet you've been warned!

BM_RedDeath_COVER1-600x918.png

One of the best DC combinations ever in my opinion!

As Batman and The Flash are my two favourite DC heroes a story where Batman gets access to the speed force is pretty bad ****,  the new name is awesome The Red Death. The amalgamation of Flash's and Batman's costume's also looks great.

I very rarely by new comics but this is one I am going to have to pick up.

It starts with the Shaneister teaching his boy how to play Metallica's One on an acoustic guitar and has portions of the song playing throughout the trailer, even going so far as to sync up gunfire with the drums and guitar riffs.

Epic AF!
