Where is the title defenses?Nowhere to be found.
I was thinking that he likely planned it this way all along and never expected to defend his belt unless he saw no other EASY money fight.
He beat Aldo but a few seconds is not a fight. He beat ummm nobody after that,Nate Diaz has been a gate keeper and not much more.Nate and Nick have never held a belt and will likely both retire never having a belt.
So wtf has Conor done to be a star?VERY little, those few seconds with Aldo is pretty all of his entire importance.
So he aims for a smallish 155 fighter, sees and easy target ,gets another belt. Now it looks like he avoids grinding and earning his ranks by aiming for a boxing fight next.I would not be the least surprised if he fights Mayweather and retires from mma.
Then he can walk around claim he has two belts and the most money,he likes to always talk about his money instead of his prowess.
If he went and solidified with a couple belt defenses,i feel then he would deserve some credit or even perhaps avoiding Nate and taking Khabib when Khabib asked for it.Instead he has done VERY little in the UFC and might retire holding two belts hostage.
I can now understand why Hendrick's and the UFC were bitter when GSP retired, nobody wants a tainted belt ,they want to EARN it beating the champion, not some interim crap.
Speaking of which GSP is doing th esame thing,he is aiming at two belts,i am 99% certain of it,maybe 3 belts is he can make 155 and then he will retire again leaving all belts held hostage.
We need some legitimacy in this sport, fighters need to honor their belts and defend them and not run off looking for spot fights that are EASIER wins.
