My bug bear is guys who use their wrestling to 'steal' rounds. If someone takes someone down and tries to ground and pound their opponent's head through the canvas, or pass to a better position and get a sub it's all good.

Fighters who land a half-hearted td and do absolutely nothing with it shouldn't be rewarded, and I find them pretty boring to watch. Hendricks/post-Serra GSP spring to mind.

Most casuals on here don't know how to grapple nor care to try. Yet everyone and their gma knows how to throw a punch, it is literally the most simple move somebody can do in a fight. Therefore it is easy to understand for people of low IQ levels.

I dont think nobody here 'hates' when the fight goes to the ground and becomes a grappling match.

I think the problem is when some fighters are clearly butt grabbing just to score points already knowing they will not sub his opponent.

How can someone not like a beautiful display of grappling. How can someone not respect a guy who tries to sub his opponent and not only but grab ?

OP must be a GSP fan

I like all aspects but i prefer fighters don't run or hold on for dear life. If someone really pushed the pace or they're hurt i can forgive it a little.

I don't mind a little stalling if i can see they're trying but tired/hurt or evenly matched and they are slowly trying to cook them figuring out reactions out and feeling out what dangerous territory to avoid but take some risk when there is opportunity to go for the kill. I actually really like the out wit game aspect more than i do all out going for the kill.

Basically i like variety. I want a smart tactical fight but no coward chit. Pick your spots, feel/figure the opponent out then progressively dismantle them & relentlessly go for the kill.

Hands are under rated. For example, many fighters use their hands to pick up objects and hold them. They can also gesture with them, or even use them to pleasure their sexual organs. So yeah, op gtfo.

It is odd. Must be an American thing. A few years back with me and Kevbo Jones were having beef he tried to insult me saying my hands were small. I was like so, am I supposed to be offended?  I have stumpy fingers and relatively short arms for my height but I am no T Rex. Then people started mocking Trump for small hands.  It is bizarre, why do people care? What next, mocking peoples dry elbow skin?

Exactly.

I use to be fascinated watching some of the grappling exchanges in Pride with guys like Carlos Newton/Pele/Sakuraba/Big Nog etc. They were usually really active on the ground. The UFC seems to have a lot more stalling, I've always blamed the cage for this since the guy being pressed against it is having their movement restricted.

The last time I checked they used pillows, not hands, in boxing, fool.

The same with kickboxing.

Striking battles in MMA are far more exciting than those in kick/boxing where they stand like morons against each other hidden behind the pillows.

Imagine you saw those sports for the first time. Those huge boxing gloves look as stupid as those shoes that are a perfect match for them:
