But seriously. Wouldn't these missiles be shot down before there was even a chance?

Actually, one of the things that recently enflamed North Korea was our testing of a missile defense system in the Pacific.

We're entirely capable of protecting the mainland. The media is purposely pretending we can't.

missile range is determined by technical details of the missile itself and not by geographic reference points

The Marshall Islands are the same distance as North Korea.  His point is that we have demonstrated we can shoot down something launched by them.

but if it makes you feel better who cares

as I have already noted north korea could place a nuke in chicago in a shipping container

The very first news article when I Google it talks about shooting down a missile from the goddamn Marshall Islands, which happen to be about 4,600 miles from California. Anybody without a peanut in their head could compute that if we can shoot down a missile from 4,600 miles, we can shoot down a missile shot from 5,700 miles.

Now go ahead and explain what the hell you're talking about with a nuke in a shipping container. How the **** do you propose they get it there?

we do not have the capability to defend the entire us mainland from a long range missile threat

and if we did why would we even give a **** about ROK having them?
