Did you watch the last Saki fight? He didn't exactly look like a world beater when he was getting pieced up a dude who couldn't win the Jungle Fights belt..

any idiot can run in and throw strikes but he didn't have the common fight iq to keep yer ****ing hands up at all times and got countered badly

Saki could potentially KO anyone in the UFC (that might be overkill but he's a great striker with a lot of power)

not saying he has the best stand up in the division but he will easily ko a journeyman if the guy decides to try to stand and bang with him

Roundtree on this one.  Saki was rocked by Frankenstein, who has an equal chance of beating someone than does the girl Rony Jason ploughed.

He has to make it to a journeyman before he can KO them. This upcoming loss to Rountree certainly won't help.

The only losses he has he was humped to death in which saki will not do.

Perfect match for Roundtree anybody that has stood toe to toe with him has got themselves knocked out.

Gokhan Saki Discusses His Progress In Wrestling & Jiu Jitsu

xGokhan-Saki.png.pagespeed.ic.jeE8FeHF_y

Saki shared his initial thoughts on his bout with Rountree. Though Rountree is something of a knockout artist himself, Saki fully expects him to try to turn their fight into a grappling match.

“Khalil is a hard worker, I think. He’s a nice fighter, but with me, I’m sure he’s going to try and wrestle,” Saki said (h/t Peter Carroll).

“I think a lot of wrestling coaches are going to thank me because they can make big money now,” the kickboxing transplant continued. “Everybody will want private wrestling lessons now because they don’t want to fight me standing up.”

“His standup is nice. If you don’t know anything about striking his fighting style looks sick, but I’ve fought everybody. In my eyes, he tries to strike – I am a striker. It’s like I’m Ronaldo and he just plays football in the park with his friends.”

If Rountree does work for the takedown, Saki says he isn’t too worried, as his jiu jitsu and particularly his wrestling are coming along nicely.

“My wrestling is getting sick. I’m really happy with my progress because I feel I understand the game. My jiu-jitsu is coming on very well too. My striking technique is even improving and I’ve been going in with some big guys,” he said.

“I will make him fight the way I want him to fight. This is my next step. I will make them all fight on my terms.”

BJJ is a waste.

He needs to go the Gaethje route, and just have enough wrestling to ensure you can keep it on the feet at all times.

But he has lingering issues from when he broke his leg which is one of the reasons why he's only been boxing for the last 2 years.

i get what you're saying but in an mma fight where saki is still limited with take down defence experience it won't be an out and out kick boxing fight. spong could compete with him standing up for as long as he needed to with the take down threat and superior ground game possibly making it more of a boxing contest until spong chooses when to shoot. i'd love to see it.
