Harvey Weinstein

Recommended Posts

Here’s Streep’s full statement:

“The disgraceful news about Harvey Weinstein has appalled those of us whose work he championed, and those whose good and worthy causes he supported. The intrepid women who raised their voices to expose this abuse are our heroes.

One thing can be clarified. Not everybody knew. Harvey supported the work fiercely, was exasperating but respectful with me in our working relationship, and with many others with whom he worked professionally.

lol I wonder if the ones that werent harassed are getting depressed.

Out of curiosity, what does Meryl Streep have to do with a picture of Weinstein and Shillary Clinton?

She used to bang Marilyn Manson. Pretty sure she's got some loose screws upstairs.

If you ever heard any of his old stuff or the song Deep Six - you'd bang him too.  He may have to flash some cash but you'd do it if the price was right.

I really don't see the problem. How much money have these actresses made since? They should blow him everytime they see him. Nothing is free. Even if you get a ride somewhere: ****, cash, or gas, no one rides for free.

Agree - to an extent.  They are all scumbags and ****s - more some than others of course.   This is hollywood.  Like it or not, someone is smoking poles to get to the top. HOWEVER - those smoking poles (in my opinion) should be the ones deciding whose poles they are smoking to get ahead of the game.  It shouldn't be the owner of the pole, demanding the smoking of it.

I honestly thought this was a normal thing in Hollywood. Maybe not normal, but happens often. Isn't thst how casting couches in **** came about? Parodies of what happens in Hollywood.

This is getting ridiculous. Now Terry Crews is saying he was sexually assaulted by another dude in Hollywood but refuses to name them.

I could see it happening for sure....but I'd like to see him name names or else shut up about it

But by doing that the same level of attention wouldn’t be given to the situation. Just like everyone and everything else in this day, you got to create more drama.

James Corden is allowed to crack jokes like that because it's common knowledge that he regularly sucks somebody's **** to keep that terrible TV show.

I dont even know who this is

I don't think many people did know much about him.

Now we know he is a Hollywood kingpin that banged a **** load of actresses including A Listers, and tried to with a bunch more that didn't like it.

It's clear that Weinstein crossed some lines that shouldn't be crossed.

Was Whitherspoon really assaulted?  Maybe.  It would be nice to get more details.  Why?  People mislabel things and being a victim is now "in".  If it was truly assault, then she should name the director.

People don't know the difference between assault, harassment, and just being made uncomfortable.

Kevin Smith although I totally disagree with what he says here proves again he's one of the nicest people in Hollywood.

Writing on Twitter, Kevin spoke about his feelings in the wake of the allegations:

"He financed the first 14 years of my career – and now I know while I was profiting, others were in terrible pain. It makes me feel ashamed."

Speaking frankly on his celebrity and movie news podcast Hollywood Babble-On, Kevin appeared disturbed by the way his career has been tied up with Weinstein and Miramax:

"I just wanted to make some f*cking movies, that’s it… And no f*cking movie is worth all this. Like, my entire career, f*ck it, take it.

It’s wrapped up in something really f*cking horrible."

When somebody in the audience shouted out how it wasn’t his fault, Kevin was quick to admit he feels he could’ve done more.

Although the director made it clear he had no knowledge of the alleged incidents involving Weinstein, he still feels some degree of guilt and responsibility:

"I know it’s not my fault, but I didn’t f*cking help.

Because I sat out there talking about this man like he was a hero, like he was my friend, like he was my father and sh*t like that, and he changed my f*cking life.

And I showed other people, like, ‘You can dream, and you can make stuff, and this man will put it out.’ I was singing praises of somebody that I didn’t f*cking know.

I didn’t know the man that they keep talking about in the press – clearly he exists, but that man never showed himself to me."

According to Vulture, Kevin has now promised to donate all future residuals from his Miramax backed films to Women In Film.

Good for Kevin, but I don't think his comments were well thought out.  It's more like something I would say if I was drunk in an interview or showboat pandering.

BTW, I like Kevin Smith.  I think his heart is in the right place.

"I just wanted to make some f*cking movies, that’s it… And no f*cking movie is worth all this. Like, my entire career, f*ck it, take it.

Easy to say, in hindsight, once you have made it.  For the same reason most of the actresses stayed silent, many others would.  That's why Harvey got away with it for so long.

I know it’s not my fault, but I didn’t f*cking help.

Because I sat out there talking about this man like he was a hero, like he was my friend, like he was my father and sh*t like that, and he changed my f*cking life.

How could you have helped, Kevin?  If you had no idea, then there's nothing you could do.

We tend to treat people with binary labels whether they are good or bad.  We expect bad people to do only bad.  We expect good people to do only good.  That's our expectations.

Good people can do bad things or bad people can do good things.  The bad that someone does shouldn't cancel out any of the good they did.  The good that someone does shouldn't cancel out the bad that they have done.  You can appreciate the good that someone's done while also condoning the bad that they have done.

That said, we do often balance those things out when we decide we like someone or not.  Also, we tend to be more forgiving to some people than others.  Also, some bad is just unforgivable.

According to Vulture, Kevin has now promised to donate all future residuals from his Miramax backed films to Women In Film.

I understand that Kevin is a good charitable guy.  This, however, is a bit pandering.

It's nice that he can do this, but keep in mind that Miramax was a Disney company since the 90s until the Arabs recently bought it.  Kevin wasn't profiting off of Weinstein.  Weinstein was profiting off of Kevin. In a way, Kevin is becoming a victim of this mess as this is now impacting his finances and he was assumably an innocent player.

If anyone should be giving to charities, it should be the Weinstein company.

By these women coming out, they're basically saying they didn't think their acting skills were good enough alone to get into acting. They did what they had to do. If anything Harvey is a God damn hero. Giving these bums a shot for a blow job. These ****es got paid millions for a bj. Shut up.

Netflix canceled House of Cards because of the Spacey accusation that stems from his actions in 1986.

I saw this coming a mile away. Not this specific example...but wait for more obscure references to abuse that take hold in today's society...

Barring more accusations I would give him the benefit of the doubt.

At the very least they could wrap up the goddamn show.  It felt like next season was going to be the final one anyway.

Imagine if it comes out Jon Snow is a pedo and they cancel season 8 of GoT?

I would hunt down that fat f*ck George Martin and HBO execs. and tell them in no uncertain terms that I will burn their lives to the fu*king ground if the show isn't finished.
