Are haterz loverz as well?

Recommended Posts

I need to raise a topic that has vexed me greatly, and left me mildly miffed on a number of occasions.

As we know, the forum is a place of both love and hate, two powerful, contrasting emotions.  I love Rich Franklin. I hate Josh Koscheck.  It fees nicely balanced.

Some posters are known for their powerful hate of a fighter.  12er's disdain for Conor waxed so powerfully that he wrote an essay on the subject.  However, it is well known that he's a big fan of Joe Lauzon, Chris Weidman and Al Iaquinta.  Both Freddies disdain all things McGregor, but balance it out by spreading their love for Chael Sonnen and Paul Harris.  Dear old Oz can't go a day without lambasting brave Michael Bisping, but that's okay because to be fair, he also pulls hard for Whittaker and a few other notable fighters from New Zealand.

These are balanced posters.

There are some, however, who are not known for anything other than hate.  I'm going to call you out so you can come forward and declare your allegiance, talk about the fighters you cheer for instead of boo, and restore some much needed balance to the forum.  The guilty parties are:-

AGTX - Bisping

CanPass - Conor

Zaksame - Everyone who cuts weight

So gentlemen, please humour me.  Who do you actually like? There must be someone!!

This is another good example.  I know you can't stand certain fighters, but when I think Smooth, i think redkneck racist massive Werdun/Cerrone fan.

That's the way it should be.  Idenitified by who you like, not who you hate.

I think the whole love/hate or like/dislike a fighter could happen different reasons.

For instance, I love Conor inside the octagon and some of his interviews (he is funny as **) but I hate Conor when it comes to his relation with baldy.

I like Luke as a fighter but cant stand him. Love watching his fights.

I love Machida but dislike him as a fighter.

Redneck, yes

Racist, no

Prejudist, yes

I don't hate anyone because of their race, it's the actions or ideologies that makes me hate.

Get it right fooker.

The one sentence I read it made it seem like you think I like Paul Harris

I think you mis-read that sentence. The other Freddie likes Harris.

Coming into threads just to poo poo them isn't very nice though Freddie ????

I give off much more love than hate I think tbh its probably more of an achievement to get yourself in to my list of hated fighters than loved ones lol.

The only ones I can think of just now are Woodley, Bisping and Nick Diaz. I wouldn't even say I hate Nick I just find him irritating as someone who constantly complained about wolf tickets is the guy that sells them more than anyone.

I nearly put you on the list for your Bisping hate but then remembered you like stevie ray so it's all good.

Will never be able to express how much I hate Conor McGregor. The vast majority of my posts in the Premium and Free sections probably try to explain this so I won’t replicate them here. I’m not a fan of smack...fighting in the cage is all I pay to see.

2nd on the list is Jones. I hate arrogance as well. And he seems full of it.

I’m probably the biggest fan of Alpha Male, although this will be ridiculed to no end here. I think Faber has done far more for this sport - both as a fighter and gym owner - than most fighters ever will. Was a big TJ fan...didn’t like how his leaving played out in public...but now with Cody (whom I’ve tried to like but just can’t), I’m leaning towards TJ again. I think Cody’s obsession with TJ leaving is now hurting the Alpha Male brand.

Big fan of Mendes...and then busted because of PEDs. At least he didn’t blame it on a di*k pill.

Big fan of Cowboy and GSP (and congrats to the latest, my man).

I think MM is one of the best fighters ever. Have seen him several times live and would love to do so again.

Fan of both Pettis boys...and I don’t like a fighter simply because they may be on a winning streak. Both Pettis’ are a class act the several times I’ve met them.

But I’ve learned to also be wary... Mendes is a good example. I would have sworn he was the result of pure training...and then look what happened. Smh

So now I try to be very picky...which really limits my choices.

Don’t anymore...that’s why I’m here. UFC deleted all the Premium perks...then raised the price.

Not gonna play...

But I’ve hated Conor for years so the vast majority of my record is in the Premium Forum.

Didn't he say it was a bodycream or something he rubbed on his skin, or am I getting confused with other excuses. Was the first thing that popped into my head.

This was from his Twitter feed from June of last year:

"I didn't do my homework and that was a big mistake. I own it and I'm going to pay for it."

The bolded part could mean anything but I took it as an admission without directly admitting guilt.

Do your homework on supplements?  Or do your homework on the chances of you getting caught taking PEDs?

There may be other tweets of his out there that say more but I can't find them right now.

And the fact that he was so willing to accept it without a challenge said to me he was guilty.

I wouldn't like to be ruled by usada I do believe clean fighters get caught as as there's so much I must be hard to be on top of it.

I think it was something Faber said after he popped. Again I could be wrong but it sticks in my head for sure

He must be back soon?

I think it's June of 2018 that he's eligible for return.

As much as I like Faber, I wouldn't expect him to admit to the public, 'yeah, he was on PEDs'.  I just wish he wouldn't say anything about it (which is another reason I like Mendes - he told everybody he was staying out of the TJ/Alpha Male conflict.  To the best of my knowledge he has, which is nice).

And this may be unfair to lifters but there were times when Mendes was absolutely ripped.  Some of my lifter buddies insisted he couldn't get that way without PEDs.  But who knows?  It may have just been jealously.

Remind them that it's easy to look jacked when your arms are a foot and a half long.

If you bring it and try to finish the other fighter, I like you.

If you show up to point fight, steal rounds, any of that buffoonery, I don't like you.

If you run your mouth more than you win, I don't like you.

Threef

You can run your mouth as freely as you'd like, IF you fight top competition and win. No Chael, Diaz bros, any of those goofs. They're out.

I give Conor a pass on the Floyd fight. That was destined to happen, even if Floyd was 55 years old. Floyd would do that to damn near everybody in the UFC.
