Roy Moore really needs to get gone.

Looks like voters are doing the "side with Stalin to defeat Hitler" thing.

I think they're just wondering aloud where these women have been all these years. Why now?

All these idiots thinking Trump should resign better grab a fuc*ing Snickers cause it's gonna be awhile.

I'm starting to think he could get re-elected.  The left is just completely alienating people.  I've been sprinting to the center all year.

I won't vote for him though.  Nothing to do with anything he's done as president, I just have thought the guy is a joke since the 80s

I'd still be American, but I would be American in Guam, Puerto Rico or Alaska.

Go to Guam or Alaska.  Puerto Rico is a massive chithole (even before the hurricane)

Poor precedent to set. Dems sacrificed him.

Agreed.  They're just trying to claim the moral high ground over the Roy Moore ****.

Dems objective is two-fold:

1)  If they can get rid of Moore, then they think they pick up a Senate seat by getting Jones elected.

2)  Their ultimate target is Trump.  If they can get rid of the Dems who assaulted, then they'll demand that Trump resign since he talked about grabbing them by the ****.

One important note from today.  Franken didn't actually resign.  He said he intended to resign in the coming weeks.   Don't really know why he would wait but I'm thinking this is all part of a plan.  There are important votes coming up in the next few days/weeks on tax plan and gov spending, etc.  Guess he didn't want to give up that 'no' vote.

Note:  I added in the bolded part after Sober had given his like.  Never really liked this aspect of the forum in that after somebody likes it, OP can go in and add anything they want - which may not be ok with the person who 'liked' but may not see changes for days.  I may be paranoid but I don't like this.

I've been saying since Harvey Weinstein's case busted wide open that the end goal is Trump.

I firmly believe the reasoning behind deciding against an investigation on Franken, citing it will simply take too long, is so that when they dredge up the Trump accusers in 2019, they'll want Americans to take their precedent and deem him guilty with no real investigation or trial.

This is a female dog donkey kitten political move by Franken.  He claims he did nothing wrong but is stepping down?  No, don't be **** **** ****.  Fight it and stick up for yourself.  Be a man.

I'm sad and upset that it has come to this.  As much as I don't like Franken, this is some ****.  He should keep office until he is voted out.

Now he is sacrificing himself as a political play for his party.  It's all pandering and partisan politics.

This is all a power play by the Dem mgmt. Did you notice his reference to Moore and Trump? They have nothing to do with his situation. This is a small act on a bigger play to go after Trump.

For what?  Do people really think he is going to rape 14 year old girls when he is in office?  Give me a break.  This is also ****.  The allegations happened 40 years ago or so and they were at most: creepy, but as far as I know, not illegal.

It's all about the mudslinging.

The article was a political move, and should be considered interfering with an election as they waited until after the ballots couldn't be changed before they produced the allegations.

If I supported his political ideology, then I would vote for him no problem.  I don't support his ideology, though.  I'd rather have someone who supports my views than someone who wants to abolish them.  Something creepy that happened 30 years ago is not worth worrying over.  At most it should be an interparty issue.

That said, I'd never vote for Roy Moore.

Correct - and Alabamians understand this. They are aware of how the mainstream media operates. Even for those that are suspicious of Moore, the alternative of Doug Jones is anaethema to them - especially on the subject of abortion. Jones' views are way radical to most people in Alabama.

Moore was interviewed this morning on talk radio. When he speaks of the law, he sounds professional and competant and confident that he made the correct decisions, based upon the law. Then I hear him talk at public events and I just hear him say stuff that just makes me cringe.

Moore may be a pathetic candidate...but the Dems, once again, offered up somebody just as bad or worse.

I have to actually to convince myself to vote in next Tuesday's election.

I disagree but whatever.  The allegations are credible and the Republican party prides itself of being the party of values, they should oust him on general principle.  There is something organically wrong with men in their 30s pursuing grade school students and I don't think that goes away.

I could respect it if someone said they supported Moore simply because they want to defeat the dem on the grounds of there being one less pro-abortion vote, but what I see is people trying to make excuses that he didn't do anything wrong because they simply can't handle the cognitive dissonance.

I remember becoming aware of politics as a kid during Carter's term. But the way things are done now has so digusted me that I'm ready to abolish Congress and the Pdesident and just try four years on our own.

To be fair, I saw a lot of that 30 years ago.  When I was in high school, I knew a lot of girls dating 30 year olds.  It was more common than you think.  Also, most of those girls moms were all for it and that should be somewhat telling of the times.  I think only the main accuser hid it from her mom.  As far as I know, he never had sex with them but keep in mind that 14 was considered the legal age in many places at that time.

Yes, I think it's creepy and pathetic.  But it was like half a century ago.  That's all in the past.  People do change.  He is happily married and really, he is the only candidate that has a chance to win that will represent his constituents.

I'm not in Alabama and I don't care who wins.  I'm just not as outraged as some people have been tricked into getting.  There is WAY too much outside influence on this election.  Candidates are getting way more out of state donations than in state donations and that should be illegal.  It's not much different than outside countries funding our presidential elections.  Anyone who is against that should also be against it here.

Can't deny that.

The only thing I disagree on is, that being married isn't an indicator that you aren't a piece of ****, though that's not really relevant to my argument.

Which is, ironically, exactly what Hillary nows says of the allegations against her husband. She simply doesn't want to talk about it.

All kinds of orgs have tried some dirty tricks...I don't know how successful they'll be. One recent argument is that Moore is racist since he opposed removing segregationist language from the state's constitution.

What most people don't understand is that AL has an outdated system where the state constitution is pretty much locked down and anytime you open it up for revision, it opens up opportunities to change otber parts of the constitution.

Moore did indeed oppose removing the language - because he feared doing so would open up property taxes (of which AL has some of the lowest in the country).

But our state's BLACK lawmakers also opposed removing the language because doing so might open up secondary education (of which minorities greatly benefit).

But Moore is the racist...smh.
