That's why I offered to slap him in the sack, it makes more financial sense than dumping in more money right now

I think Jason has lost like 30% of his investment since he started buying in....lol

Gets laughed at when he loses a good portion of his money by the same child.

Oh snap, I'm back down to my original investment with this latest ETH plunge

do your own research but I am hearing ETH will take a huge plunge because the ICO's tied to it need to cash out to fiat because of the incoming litigations and to have liquidity.

I wanted to get in to it a long time ago, way before it blew up, but didn't like an idiot.  The same way I didn't get in to Bitcoin back in 2014 when I thought about buying like $50 worth and sitting on it.

I really want stuff to just fall.  Like BTC at $500 or so, ETH way down, etc.  The main reason why I put a completely inconsequential amount of money in back in December was I didn't really want to get in during the big bull run up but couldn't help but put something in there.

You are a fool to think I or anybody on this site would take advice serious from another poster.  Granted I have asked for some investment advice and I'm grateful for the tips by some posters in here but the real advice I take and follow are from my own research and friends and coworkers.

Is that why you bought in just before a drastic plunge?

Then give yourself some tips, 55 year old casino card dealer.

Good post bro....nobody here knows what will happen to the crypto market...I was highly skeptic when it was in a bubble run while other H0mos who I wont name were telling us to buy at ATH's.......lol! As always do you own research and take what others tell you with a grain of salt since you dont know what ulterior motives people have.

I just come here to laugh at guys like SVT that say crypto is the future of everything and when you ask them to provide details they dissapear lol...

I hope it goes to the moon.  I'm almost at even money.  At $9,500 I should be even money and then it's to the moon.  Get in while the train is still slow because once it picks up speed, you won't be able to run and hop on it.

For that just fall back on what the coin and company is actually doing. What is their tech looking to acheive? look at the coin itself...does it look undervalued? has the comany made any progress in the last year or so?

If you answer these questions against TRON I can assure you that sh%it coin isnt worth anything.... There are better ops out there bro...dont listen to paid shills like SVT.

Vert, you are about to miss the train.  Sorry bud.  SVT, Canpass, and I will be nice and cozy in a warm house while you're standing outside in the rain.

Bros....I'm starting to think that gold is the new bitcoin.....

THoughts?

Wat?

The price of gold has been farting around in the same general price range for years.

I need to get more in to precious metals.  I have a mutual fund that is Gold-ETF heavy but I don't really have any money in that one.  I want to get physical metals.  Been thinking about silver just because you can reasonably buy big ingots of it.  I don't have the $$ yet to buy more than maybe 1 or 2 Gold Eagles or something if I were to buy gold.

Here's some advice:

Nobody knows what the market is going to do. Don't act like YOU do.

In a real investment market you can say that. But crypto currencies was different. As soon as governments started hinting it was something that needed to be controlled (which is obviously how this was going to go down) people should have known a crash was coming.

Gold and other precious metals almost always go up when the markets drop, like recently. If you want to invest in them do it as a defense against market drops, but as a long term investment I have my doubts. As you said it's been many years now since gold did anything good, in fact, I think it was during and just after the 2007-2008 crisis. But as a speculative investment to buy when the equities markets are high and sell the gold when equities markets have fallen I guess you could make a little money here and there.

I've always seen gold as a long term SHTF kind of investment. It's certainly not a buy the dips kind of ride like crypto.

I made a great investment in physical gold almost ten years ago to the day that has paid back at least ten times over :)

Pretty much all the people in this thread are talking in terms of speculative investments. So when Sober mentioned buying precious metals I answered in that context. Personally the only speculation I make is that my investments will be a fair bit higher over the long term, so that's how long I tend to keep them for. The only time I buy and sell is to re-balance my portfolio allocations or take income.

The price of gold 10 years ago was in the $1100US range. Today it is around $1300US. Not sure how you made 1000% on that but gratz! hah

Totally agree with the first paragraph. Unless you've got the time to be staring at graphs on a daily basis the only things approaching a sure thing are longer term investments based on solid fundamentals.

Lol, I knew someone would hit the charts when I dropped that in... the only physical gold I've ever bought was the wife's wedding ring and it's our 10th anniversary tomorrow.

1000% is a conservative estimate ;)
