UFC Fight Night: Maia vs. Usman - Official Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Holy cow that was a bad night of fights (main card). The only one standing out was KGB, though she looked much bigger than her opponent.

Hearing Woodley chit on Usman by saying he "didn't do enough" was literally unbearable. Woodley is the poster boy for the "play it safe" champion.

I hate the fact that he's such a good fighter, and he chooses to implement the most boring gameplan possible to get the W. No champion has bored me this much since Tim Sylvia. The sooner someone fluke KOs him, the better

My sodium levels were too high after listening to a mere 2 sentences from him.

Did he REALLY say that ****. Lol Usman at least had maia hurt at one point which is more than he can say

I agree in a sense, but you cannot deny Woodley did enough to get the belt in the first place, unlike Usman who is not doing enough to even get the shot. Woodley has went play it safe since getting it

Sure he destroyed Lawler but he was pretty lucky to get the shot in the first place

Uhmm... Woodley had more wins over ranked opponents than the champion at one point. lol

I thought it was one of the best nights for fights, only bad one was the main event, other than that they were all quality, Prelims had some of the fights of the night.

Yeah, that arrogant POS said that. He had the most boring title defenses in the past 5 years & thinks he can say something like that. I've gone full snowflake & am triggered beyond my wildest dreams.

Maia has another horrible fight last night. Thompson had an unbelievably boring fight with Masvidal after the Woodley fights....

And it's Woodley's fault their fights were terrible?!

Are you honestly going to tell me that you're willing to pay $64.99 to watch another Main Event with Woodley defending his title?

If so, you don't deserve to have an opinion on what fight cards are worth watching.

In Strikeforce, Woodley was boring AF too....

I'll only **** if Wonderboy dances around the cage in a boring fight, then has the audacity to later say, "this up-and-comer didn't do enough."

Yeah, Woodley only KO'ed four out of five guys in his run to the title fight, where he KO'ed the champ. He has no room to demand people end a fight!

Ah yes... In Woodley's run up to his first title fight he beat the Might Kelvin Gastelum by split decision right before fighting Lawler... 2 fights before the title fight Rory Macdonald routed him in a 30-27 affair where Woodley didn't win a single round...

Your math is bad & you should feel bad.

What I said was factual. I did NOT say he KO'ed four out of five guys straight in a nine fight win streak to the title.

Let's compare to Usman now..

Yeah, how dare Woodley ask somebody to stop a fight?! Calling out Usman like he's any more exciting than him! LOL

Usman hasn't lost at all during his run in the UFC.

Woodley got beat like a b!tch by Rory Macdonald, losing every single round. That's the difference. Woodley has no room to talk.

Btw stupid, MacDonald and Shields were no longer relevant, or in the UFC at all when Woodley fought for the title.

And I'm pretty sure Woodley could have laid on cans like Meek and Yakovlev too. Usman pulling that off really doesn't say much.

You began by b!tching about Woodley calling Usman out for thinking he's getting close to a title shot after a really boring fight. Now you realized you said some stupid chit, and are trying to change it.

I haven't changed chit. Woodley is the most boring champion since Tim Sylvia. You're the one pointing to a bunch of past fights that mean absolutely nothing.

Woodley's a boring champ. Until he has a title defense that is actually entertaining that won't change. I said that in my first post, & it still stands.

Why don't you Copy & Paste a Woodley title defense that was enjoyable?

Wait... There isn't one.

Maybe some day they'll pair him up with someone who doesn't sprint around the cage or try to hump your leg for 25 mins. Who knows?

I guarantee you, if it's Covington next, that guy is getting knocked out.

Excuses excuses. Let me know when he has title fight worth watching, cuz I won't be wasting my time on his next one.

The first fight was literally a draw. How pathetic of a champion. When's the last time a champion kept their belt with a draw?

Keep arguing. Like I said before, come talk to me about Woodley when he actually has an entertaining title defense. Until then, there isn't anything you can say that makes his next fight any more appealing. I'd rather watch Tim Sylvia reruns.

Hate to sound like captain obvious but when you have the belt, you're no longer campaigning to get a title shot. You don't need to be exciting. You need to be strategic.
