Recommended Posts

I feel like Woodley vs. Covington has the potential to be the most boring title fight in UFC history.

I think it would be better than Woodley's fights with Thompson.  Colby wont fight effectively at distance so will have to engage a whole lot more

Personally think Tyron is simply playing the hype game, max payday. Probably will be a boring fight.

but it's a game he's incredibly bad at and coupled with nobody caring - not a winning battle to wage...

King Cringington made Tyron cry and leave the South Florida ATT facility permanently.

This will be easy money for Chaos.  Tyron is in the middle of a twitter meltdown RIGHT NOW.

I hate to say this, but I'm beginning to feel that Colby Cringington has been created to play heel in order to have Conor return as face and "rescue" fans and the WW division, from this cheap pardy of himself.

Conor's handspeed would ruin Colby providing he can avoid a td or two to put hands on him.

If this happens, he'll have captured 3 fooking belts without defending one.

smh head

Colby would retire Conor, permanently.  McNugget would gas and the King of Cringe would mount him.  Conor would roll over and beg for an RNC loss but Colby would just rearrange his angus structure.

M8, don't even joke about it. That's the point at which I would be officially done with the UFC.

It sucks that you could easily be right.

Nah, ufc are going to create history by having 3 belts at ww; gsp will fight Conor for the interim interim ww belt later this year.

Lol, Colby could barely handle some jabs from a lightweight. When Tyron touches him he’s going to sleep. Colby can’t outwrestle or box Woodley, wtf else does he do? Woodley opening at -140 is the easiest grand I’ll make this year.

It's pretty funny that Woodley knew was that Colby is trolling to market himself but still got so rustled that he said he would kill him and wants him out of ATT

Call down, now. Tyron has knocked out two people in the last five years. He's no Chuck Liddel.

You don't need to be Chuck, just someone bigger than a light weight that can throw a better punch than Maia.

Like I said easy money, any legit gambler is all over this right now.

Wasn't his last fight with that very same Maia, the guy you're saying can't throw a decent punch? Yeah, that dude wasn't exactly a threat with his hands, nor was Woodley in any danger of being taken down. But he couldn't even knock that guy out.

But you're positive he's going to knock out some guy who has never been knocked out and is probably going to put Woodley on his back in the opening seconds of every round?

You claim to be some of fighting savant, but you clearly don't understand strategy in the cage.

Demian Maia has very rudimentary takedowns. He basically has to pull guard against decent wrestlers to get them to engage on the ground, because he can't get the fight there.

Woodley actually uses his brain when he fights, so he circled the outside, and jabbed Maia to death all night. He couldn't sit down on his punches because Maia may have been able to duck in and catch him off balance.

However, being that Colby Covington isn't a submission specialist, Woodley will not need to stick and move. Covington's style is predicated on being able to move forward, but he won't be able to drag Woodley to the floor, nor will he be able to back Woodley up.

They're going to meet in the middle and Woodley is putting him to sleep within five minutes.

I think you're wrong on a lot of this, but we will hopefully see soon enough. I will say that Colby has not been shy about claiming that he regularly outwrestled Woodley in the gym. I have not read anything anywhere from Woodley disputing these claims.

It is been a very long time since Woodley has knocked anyone out. It's not something you can really count on from him. And Colby has never been knocked out. He is absolutely not shy about his willingness to turn to his wrestling.

-Woodley has been beaten before by guys that weren't the greatest.

-His last few fights have been uninspiring contests that went to decision against guys who also have never been considered the greatest.

I don't think Woodley's going to win this one.

Also, when have I ever claimed to be some sort of fighting savant? I have always been very humble and honest about how predicting anything in this sport is baffling to me.

Covington lost to Warlley Alves too. They've both lost before.

You act like you're some type of fighting god. Don't act confused now.

It’s hard to Ko a guy who is literally grabbing ankles 90% of the fight. Colby isn’t going to be able to wrestle Woodley. Colby wrestled in the PAC 12 and couldn’t wrestle his way out of the conference. So when he wants to put Woodley up against the fence and he can’t, its back to the center of the octagon. Colby has literally fought no one close to Woodley.

From a fighter perspective you should have seen Woodley use his brain his last 3 fights. Yea it was boring but it was smart. Who’s had an exciting fight against Maia or Wonderboy in the last few years?

"It’s hard to Ko a guy who is literally grabbing ankles 90% of the fight."

This is why Tyrone will not be able to knock Covington out.

"Colby isn't going to be able to wrestle Woodley."

Ah, but all signs indicate that he will.

"Colby has literally fought no one close to Woodley."

What does that even mean? Somehow I missed Woodley's coronation as an MMA legend. I mean, he's good, but I wouldn't say he's the greatest of all time or anything. He won the title against a guy who probably shouldn't be fighting anymore. Like it or not, after GSP left, The guys who appeared to be at the top of the division were all just guys who had a little bit of name recognition and, honestly, were all sort of at the ends of their careers. They all fight against each other, winning some and losing some. Robbie got a hold of the title and defended it in some wars and by the time Tyrone got to him, that dude was done.

Since then, he has had a couple lackluster defenses against some guys that were never that great. And now he's about to lose that title against another guy who is not all that great, but a little bit better than him.
