Mandalay Bay owners suing Vegas shooting victims

Recommended Posts

meh. covering their assets is a solid move. not a popular one but the suits heading their way would probably bankrupt them if they don't get ahead of it early

It's ridiculous that they should have to worry about being libel for something nobody could have suspected or predicted.  Bad look, but as Crangs pointed out, they have to protect their assets.

Gotta blame everyone, sue sue sue.  Money apparently makes people feel better about their loved ones being murdered.

The MGM lawsuits are a “blatant display of judge shopping” that “quite frankly verges on unethical,” according to Mr Eglet.

“I’ve never seen a more outrageous thing, where they sue the victims in an effort to find a judge they like,” the lawyer continued. “It’s just really sad that they would stoop to this level.”

Man, the Taj in Atlantic City was an unbelievable chithole.  ****tail waitresses were all 70 years old.  Dingy, I'm surprised I didn't contract flesh-eating bacteria from their chips.

Says the scumbag personal injury lawyer.  The guy probably had an orgasm when he found out the body count.

Gross is the victims suing the hotel and the city and everyone not responsible.

Same with that theater shooting.

Gross was the victims suing Warner brothers, and the theater for the shooting.

Gross is trying to profit off of a tragedy.  Gross is trying to harm others due to a tragedy.

Also...

Gross is how much the Mandalay Bay charges for a hot dog or a taco.

Chit, you want a good hot dog in Vegas, there's only one place to go. American Coney Island in The D Hotel downtown.

Bring back the tasteless monster hot dogs from Slots O' Fun!

I think in that case the theatre countersued and was able to avoid liability....I bet MGM can use that as baseline for their case.

I think there's a protection law in place called the safety act and the attorneys are asking for that to be applicable in this case. If they're successful the hundreds of suites against the Mandalay Bay will be dismissed.

There is no money being demanded by MGM. This suit is simply to stop all the other suites being filed against them, suites that are blaming them for something that they had no control over.

Gross on all accounts.

tl:dr version

Unless a plethora of Casino employees were aware the shooting was going to take place and had means to stop it but willfully ignored taking any measures then i don't see how they could possibly be liable even in the slightest and even then it's still tricky.

As tragic as it is the victims families trying to sue is just a disgusting money grab. Next they'll be suing the gun or ammunition manufacturer because some blood sucking lawyer may convince them they may get a settlement because any entity being sued may just decide to settle instead of paying legal cost of having a case drag-on through the courts. Courts are a joke too. Judges should be throwing out cases like that left and right so the blood sucking lawyers will stop preying on people like vultures.

Losing loved ones totally fkn sucks and people do weird chit when they're emotionally distraught or have trauma about that but asking for money over it is like a slap in the face to the dead loved one(s). The lawyers sicken me more though because they're well aware of that fact and take full advantage knowing some of these 'victims' weak psychological state and knowing they can convince people half as greedy as them to be just as greedy simply based on that emotional state.

I'm sure we could have sued the hospital my dad passed at. Was a fairly routine surgery but became a slightly complicated situation that went wrong and perhaps there was some blame on their side that went beyond the risk of the procedure.

It raised some questions for us but our family didn't even think about suing because A. It's not going to bring him back. B. No one is perfect and we were all convinced enough that there was no negligence or incompetent involved and further they did make some slight mistakes they the best they could do. C. Sometimes chit just happens & it's out of anyone's hands. D. Even if we found out some minor mistakes were made and without out those it would have upped his chances seeking a settlement still doesn't bring him back.
