Jacare has lost every single #1 Contender fight he's ever been in.

Recommended Posts

And I take absolutely no pleasure in saying that. Overall jacare seems like a nice genuine humble dude. But facts are facts.

Let's take a deeper look here. Entered the ufc in 2013 and started out strong with a big 5 fight win streak including 2 MASSIVE wins over the Great Chris Camozzi. Thus he was given an eliminator bout against Yoel Romero and got bodied in the 1st round but somehow managed to survive to a decision loss.

Won 2 quick fights then was given another eliminator bout against Whittaker which wasn't even close, dude absolutely destroyed inside of 3 minutes.

Then went on to beat derek brunson in devastating fashion. Dana felt generous and gave him another eliminator bout against Kelvin, even though he was only on a 1 fight win streak. Jacare won the first round with superior grappling but didn't have high enough level bjj to sub kelvin and got outboxed and beat up pretty badly the last 2 rounds.

Fast forward to the Weidman fight in which he's clearly getting dominated for 13 minutes at which point he goes for broke with nothing to lose and lands a hard lucky punch. Good for Souza. After which Dana feels nice enough to the point where he may as well have a man crush on jacare, he gives him ANOTHER #1 contender fight while only riding a 1 fight winning streak against #10 ranked fighter in the division. Gets dominated on the feet and on the ground for over 20 minutes but manages to survive to decision.

And that's the ufc career of Jacare thus far. So where should he go from here? Should he retire? Surely he will never be getting a title shot now, even though he has been giving every opportunity in the world and then some.

Thanks and please discuss.

Depends who's standards you go by. Beating Brunson and a washed up Anderson got Izzy a shot at the MW title, against a WW.

Weidman thinks he deserves a title shot every time he wins, which thankfully isn't too often.

Jacare has had to do that little bit more than some and drops the ball at the worst time.

Yoel has had to earn his the hard way too. Dodgy judging is the only reason he isn't holding the belt now, but that's not on Dana

Fast tracking certain fighters while making others have to work for it is (on Dana)

Weidman is a can?  Jacare is a can?  Brunson is a can?  Gastelum us a can?  Anderson is washed up?

Every thread is like this, filled with these hateful comments.  Who do you believe is good then?   Who is this mystery fighter and what organization does he fight out of?

Also, if you guys can't appreciate the fighters on the roster and the talent that it truly takes to compete at their level,  why do you guys even watch this chit?  What are you posting here for?

lol are you serious?  Yoel was not eligible to win the belt even if the judges scored it correctly.

There's this little thing called "making weight" and it's in the fight contract that you sign.

True, forgot about that, but that's really just semantics as the main point of the argument is that some fighters have had to move mountains to earn a shot while others get fast tracked

Mw has been stacked since Silva lost, whether its weidman, luke, yoel, jacare, costa, whoever, they all have great skillsets but they all have one glaring weakness that is easily exploited and that keeps them from being a great champion, whether its cardio, glass chin, lack of ground/striking game, weight cuts, whatever.

Weidman and Luke are glass, jacare doesn't show up for big fights, yoels weight cut,Costas cardio, Whittaker oft injured, gastelum is little, Israel isnt there yet and takes punishment not so well.....talent wise mw is sick, but weakness wise it's easily exploited.
