UFC dead in Ireland/UK now

Recommended Posts

So the UFC is dead in Ireland/UK, sorry if this was already posted, did a search, didn't find anything.

Numbered UFC cards will now be PPV with BT Sport Box Office, on top of the already super high Monthly subscription to the channels. Every single UFC fan I know over here has already cancelled their BT subs and have said they will be downloading/streaming from now on.

Why have the UFC done this, they must know no one will be willing to stay up to 6am, pay 30 quid with an additional PPV charge just to watch an event now. They are going to put a serious dent in their European viewing numbers with this decision

The UFC died in Ireland when Mcgagger got his head ripped off last year.

The casuals are onto other sports like women's soccer.

Yeah I will be joining you the only reason I even pay for BT Sport anymore is solely for the UFC, now the fact they are going to be splitting events between that and PPV, streams it is.

lol fixed fight.  Aldo took a suitcase full of washed cash while his wife and child were being held hostage.  They sold that worse than Mike Perry taking Donald Cerrone to the ground like he has some sort of advantage down there.  Mike would knock Plank clean out on the feet.

Dont think all numbered cards will be ppv?

So far from what I seen "Numbered Cards will be shown exclusively on BT Sports Box Office" is what I am reading

Ufc in Ireland died when McGregor was outed as a one trick pony...and the goat artem was outed as a ruskie....

Ufc in UK died when Spits retired(it died to us in the USA when hendo was robbed), and left them with a one trick pony in till, and a bunch of bums.....

I wouldn't trust that, its missing numerous events and also with 239 being the first PPV they are doing, they will more than likely wait to see how it does before updating everything. Any knowing how dirty BT are when it comes to Box office, they will be moving all UFC numbered cards if it sells much

If McGregor is a one trick pony, then Khabib is also a one trick pony no? Just better at his trick? Irish people still love the UFC, trust me, Adesanya, Jones, Max, Tony and many others are loved over here, every time they fight they are on every single Irish Social Media page I follow and all the people I work with talk about them. Yes Conor may have started a lot of Irish people off as MMA fans, but a lot have moved on from him to actually like the sport. And you can't blame them for not being fans before hand, UFC was never ever ever talked about over here before McGregor

Yup khabib is too.

I get where you're coming from, but the reality is there is no mma there at all, no Conor in Ireland or khabib in Russia if not for the mcruskie goat himself king artem

We now have to pay for Cable, BT Separately as its not with Cable, Fight Pass, PPV's and we have to stay up until 3am to start watching ..... yeah doesn't even compare. If the UFC was on like the Boxing over here at 10pm, id happily pay

So, Sky is 42 quid a month with HD, BT Sport is 30 quid a month, Fight Pass 8 a month and PPV will more than likely be 30-40 quid.

So that is 110 a month, minimum, just to watch UFC.... No thanks

Dude I got rid of cable in like 2014 because with HBO, Showtime, etc plus a UFC PPV attached to it my bill was more than double that ya goddamn bum.  If I want to order a card now I just show up to one of my rich friends house with a bottle of proper Kentucky bourbon and some thick cut ribeyes.  If $60 is going to break the bank it's highly unlikely for you to be in my circle of friends.

I could go to the casino and lose money every week and it wouldn't affect my day to day lifestyle.  When I start bodying them at the roulette table I'll usually do some dumb chit like play 3 hands of black jack $50 each.  See 20, 19, 16 and get bodied by the dealer having Q 4 and turning over a goddamn 6.  I spent the cost of a UFC PPV in slot machines in about 45 minutes flat my last trip.  If you're scared go to church.

Nah, khabib isn't a one trick. He beat the guy who fought Floyd ON THE FEET!

Arguably the best standup in the UFC m8

You do realize the UFC is an American company, right?? They do still have events at random times throughout the year, and I still fork over way more than you guys do.

People whining because they have to pay for stuff is cringe. Especially when you're whining to people who have been paying for years.

Yeah I'd like to know just how much I spent in the 2005-2014 range alone never mind what I've spent after that having a friend order an event.  UFC started getting dipping into my drug dealing money when Matt Hughes and Chuck Liddell were champions.

Looking back I wish my mom didn't know I was selling weed at the time.  I was still like a month away from graduating.  Kinda chitty to make a high school senior pay for a card.  Had to pay for my first Bonnaroo in 2003 before my senior year as well.  I had it rough growing up paying for my own chit as a teenager.  Do people in beta countries just get chit for free all the time?

If they go with just the numbered cards which im assuming is the model they will use then its roughly 30% of the cards per year.
