  1. i can understand the OP's perspective on what defines martial arts, as most of the popular known martial arts have a spiritual side to them. However just because certain martial arts have spirituality does not mean that that it is a prerequisite in order to be called a "martial art." Martial arts at is core is simply the art of attack and defending ones self... if it has a spiritual side to it or if it doesn't it doesn't matter because it is not a necessary requirement to the true meaning of martial arts, which to put in it's most simplistic form is 'different ways to fight.'
  2. lol... i don't know why you guys need to take yourselves so seriously all the time... obviously this post was only meant to be funny and i thought it was... obviously nobody thinks this will ever happen but it'a an interesting and humurous concept... I mean c'mon... who wouldn't want to see a ufc royal rumble?! lol... and if someone actually ever did jump onto somebody from the top of the octagon i would probably **** myself haha...
  3. oh and by the way I just realized I spelled his name as Roy instead of Rory... that's just a typo on my part... whoops
  4. I finally just watched the prelims... and damn that was a great fight... the suplexes were insane... after that domination of Nate Diaz I definitely would like to see him against a top 5 WW... I say put him against Kampmann or Diego Sanchez...
  5. acting or not that knee was a vicious one... did not look pleasant... if it was me i probably would have been koed or rolling around on the canvas for quite some time lol...
  6. lol... how many ufc fighters have YOU finished? if the answer is any then maybe you can talk
  7. despite whatever mma analysis you can make the main thing to look at is that one guy is an immovable object and the other is an unstoppable force an explosive bout like this isn't something thats going to last more than 2 rounds... i have a feeling vitor is getting knocked out in the 1st...
  8. its funny how before ufc 121 every other thread was about how lesnar was going to absolutely demolish cain and how cain didn't stand a chance... lesnar will reign as hw champ for a long long time etc... now lesnar's just some guy who can't take a punch and cain gets discredited the victory he was never supposed to get in the first place...
  9. thats like when a dog has something in his mouth that you want and he wont give it to you so you throw a stick in hopes that he drops it and goes after the stick
  10. there is a middle ground on this one... perhaps he was trying to lure chael into a false sense of security for the first 4 rounds so it would be more of a sure thing that he would lock in the triangle when he definitely wasn't expecting it... kind of sounds like a decent strategy actually... then again it could be like he was ****ing around like he did with Maia only in the opposite direction, it does seem a little odd that after 4 rounds of getting beatdown he just locks the triangle in within the last 2 and a half minutes of the fight...
  11. I don't understand why people hate on gsp so much... so he doesn't always finish fights... so what, he's still one of the most dominant fighters out there and he rarely ever loses a round let alone a fight... anyone that steps into the octagon deserves respect, not criticism... MMA is a sport and people make it out like its a movie or somethin and every fighter has to follow a certain script so that we may be entertained by them... i guess everytime a baseball player steps up to bat they should hit a homerun or everytime a hockey player takes a shot at the net it goes in... sure that'd probably be entertaining as hell but its unrealistic and is far from expected... nobodys perfect and not every fighter is going to fight exactly the way you want them to and they shouldn't be criticized because of that
  12. he should be carrying the boombox too and wearing the suit and doing the head thing... might as well go all out
  13. I've seen a lot of threads lately about how kos is gonna beat gsp and even outside the forums ive heard people say it... it seems like a rather common sentiment... From my perspective I could see it being not one sided or perhaps even a close fight... I don't discredit koscheck as at least being decent competition for gsp but I honestly don't see what tools he has that gsp hasn't faced and beaten before... to me it seems like just another victory for him... The reason I think that it will even be possibly close is that Koscheck has definitely improved since they last fought but lets face it; Gsp is Gsp, love him or hate him he's on a different level than the rest of the WW division and though I think kos is a great fighter and even better than he was the first time they fought I still don't see him on the same level let alone on that level with a significant advantage against gsp in any department... I can see a Serra type thing happening but every contender has that chance... i guess what I wanna know is... what specifically does kos bring to the table that is enough to defeat one of the top mma fighters in the world? I just don't see it happening but a lot of other people sure do for whatever reason....
