Bones Jones looking 3 fights ahead???

So Bones is trying to setup his 3rd fight of 2012 before he fights his first....apparently he told Dana that after he beats Hendo and Rashad he wants to fight a top 10 heavyweight by the end of the year while they are "waiting to find him a new opponent"...Ive heard of counting your chickens before they hatch...but this could be the evidence that Bones head has begun to swell to the point of explosion...here is the link

Figures...lol. Weren't the haters *****ing about him being "too bigfor LHW" and "OMG it's so unfair"... now he actually wants to go fight a top ten HW and the haters say his head is too big.

Man, Jones can't get a break around here.

Correction : This is further proof that his head is too big, something a lot of people have been thinking ever since he was signing "Champion 2011" as soon as he was getting a title shot and hadn't even fought yet.

maybe he only expressed interest. btw what do you expect him to say "when I lose to Rashad and Hendo I plan on cutting more weight and working my way up the MW ranks"? gtfo.

I think Jones can go that because 1 he beats all of this division with ease.2 he is much bigger than the whole division and 3 this division is right now the weakest in MMA,so he needs to look past it to get some real competition.

His size is not quite where it needs to be to be a legit HW but he has some things going for him.He will be faster and his leverage makes up for at least 20 lbs.I could imagine him going into HW around 235-245,most likely 245 and still have superior speed and finesse and wrestling.

You people act like Jones won't beat Rashad or Hendo lol. Everyone knows Jones is the next Anderson Silva of the UFC. Everyone knows he's gonna destroy Rashad and sub Hendo. Jones biggest test was against Machida and he sub'd him early...Jones is the future GOAT @ LHW. I can't wait until he fights a HW after he clears out the LHW divison.

Considering Rashad was meant to have the title shot Jones got, and has been shuffled around now for a year, should tell you not to be so certain Jones will beat him. Rashad has the best knowledge of how to fight Jones, and a good skillset to do it too.

Hendo would likely lose to Jones much like Rampage did.

Rua and Machida would also be dangerous rematches for Jones now that they have fought him and would be a little more prepared and experienced with how to handle his reach.

Jones has finished Shogun, Page, and Machida. 3 guys in the top 5 @ LHW. Sorry, Rashad has no chance....he couldn't even finish Davis. Rashad is going to get tooled against Jones

wow way to completely argue the point I wasnt making...LOOKING 3 FIGHTS AHEAD in MMA is ridiculous...had nothing to do with him fighting a heavyweight...had to do with him overlooking 2 opponents...he has never fought...thanks for playing though

right because the only two option besides OVERLOOKING your next two fights is to think you will lose your next two fights...nevermind TAKING IT ONE FIGHT AT A TIME...even you Bones fans know thats a dumb move...

If Overeem doesnt win against dos santos' date=' it would be a great fight.... or what about Mir?[/quote']

If he were to move up to heavyweight and fight Mir, his legs would be in serious danger. They are so skinny, and we all know Mir doesn't hold back when he locks in a submission...

I would think that if he did move up, he'd probably get put against Kongo. Don't know why, it just seems like the right decision right now.

Because finishes are all that matters? There is a certain wisdom to riding out 5 rounds to an easy decision rather than put all your effort into a fight, risking injury or loss, especially when you've been waiting for over a year to get a shot you've already earned. Jones has a fair chance of losing against Rashad or when rematched against Machida or Rua. Nobody is invincible.

It's one thing to look toward moving to HW permanently' date=' but to assume you're going to beat a guy who has a lot of experience training with you, and a guy who probably has the hardest hands in MMA? And it's not like Jones was saying "if" in that quote.

The last time a young champ was looking past an opponent, this happened.
