Dan Henderson's gameplan against JBJ...

Should be to fight EXACTLY like he did in the opening minute of his fight against Fedor. Swarm JBJ IMMEDIATELY, start throwing bombs, and make him extremely uncomfortable. Get in close, nullify JBJ's reach advantage, and batter him until he gives up.

If Hendo comes out timidly and allows JBJ to set up from long range, it is going to be a long night. However, if Henderson gets right in Jones' face, lets him feel the power behind his punches and backs him up against the cage, I don't think Jones will have any answer for him.

Henderson via TKO 1st round.

or

Jon Bones Jones via TKO round 3.

Hendo is in a **** spot' date=' if he stays on the outside he gets picked apart but if he rushes in he's going to get taken down and killed.[/quote']

Not if he catches JBJ off-guard. He'll only get taken down when he rushes in if he lets JBJ get comfortable at range. If he rushes him immediately, not letting JBJ set up from long range, he can fluster him and REALLY put him under some serious pressure.

god knows who to beat Jones at 205. Maybe at HW he might have more tough competition.

The only real wrestler hes faced is Rashad had he got beaten up. What can Dan Henderson do that Rashad cant? Hes slower for sure than rashad. Hes 40.

If he rushes in there and starts swinging, he might get a stern kick to the kneecap and a nasty elbow to the face. Even if Jones Misses those shots as Henderson is swinging, lets say Henderson takes him down, good luck keeping him there, Jones is massive for 205.

Rashad played Jones' game. He stayed on the outside, applied absolutely no pressure, and just let JBJ pick him apart at range. Hell, Rashad barely even attempted any takedowns in that fight.

As I said, Henderson needs to PRESSURE Jones immediately, to get him uncomfortable and to get him moving back. If Henderson just stays back and lets Jones sit back and wait for him, it's going to be a long night.

Let's face it, Hendo is not a finesse fighter. He'll throw bombs and maybe he'll land one. That's why I love watching his fights. Like playing a slot machine. There's magic to Henderson - everyone knows most of what he does is throw bombs, yet he lands them time after time. Some voodoo shaolin ninja technique.

At any rate, my main worry for Dan is how he's been owned in the past on the ground. Shields and Shogun are prime examples of that. If JBJ ends up on top, I doubt Hendo can survive it. JBJ is too good at GnP. I'm sure JBJ will be looking to get in that position from the beginning.

If you are gonna use any previous Hendo fight to consider what he should be doing gameplan-wise then you should have watched Hendo vs Anderson...

Dan just needs to make sure he doesnt get choked out again...

I predicted on here JBJ would beat Rampage by RNC in round 4, I think Dan will suffer the same fate within 2 rounds...

BUT, I really wanna see Hendo beat him...

HW vs MW is not really good odds for Hendo though...

If Hendo KOs Jones it will be one of the greatest moments in MMA history. Hendo would have to go down as one of the GOATs as well.

100%, multi-divisional champion - MW and LHW - plus beat HW's

If Rampage would have focused more the last couple of years, he could easily have been one of the GOAT's

Yeah his losses to Shields and Rampage are what's holding him back' date=' but since then he has been on a tear and KO'd Fedor inside one round who many thought was the GOAT...[/quote']

I never bought into the whole Fedor hype.

To me, the only great fighter he beat was Nog. The rest, whilst good in their time, ultimately got shown to be 'good' fighters in a mediocre period of HW mma fighters.

People say Fedor's legacy was fighting and beating 'bigger' guys, but to me the competition was easier there than fighting at his natural weight class of 205, hence why he did it...

Once he came to america and fought the better competition, he got exposed.

Those who hide behind the 'age' and past his prime excuse, need to remember that he lost to a 31 year old Werdum when he was 33, a 31 year old Silva when is was 34, and a 40 year old Hendo when he was 34

Anderson is older than him, he is still going strong

Hendo 29-8

Liddell 21-8

Couture 19-11

Rampage 32-10

I don't agree with the numbers game dealing with this kind of sport. Is Weidman better than all of those since he doesn't have a loss? Is Melvin Guillard better than Hendo because Melvin has more wins?

The quality of fighter at Rampage's golden era wasn't of the caliber of today's UFC. Not to say he's not a really great fighter. Just keeping things in perspective.

If Hendo wins against Jones, I'll consider him one of the greatest fighters the UFC has had.
