In his first bout in more than a year due to injuries, former light heavyweight Luiz Cane (12-4 MMA, 4-4 UFC) will fight on home soil when he meets middleweight Chris Camozzi (17-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) at UFC 153.

UFC officials today announced the fight via Twitter.

UFC 153 takes place Oct. 13 at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. Featherweight champion Jose Aldo meets challenger Erik Koch in the evening's pay-per-view main event.

FX and Facebook are expected to carry the prelims, where Cane vs. Camozzi will be slotted.

Cane most recently fought at UFC 134 in Rio, where he suffered a knockout loss to Stanislav Nedkov. It marked the the heavy-handed Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt's third loss in his past four fights. All of the 31-year-old's defeats have come via first-round knockout. The skid followed Cane's three-fight winning streak (over Jason Lambert, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Steve Cantwell) from 2008-2009.

He's now in a must-win situation against Camozzi, who looks for his third straight win following recent stoppage victories over Dustin Jacoby and Nick Catone. The 25-year-old Camozzi, who recently pulled out of a UFC 150 bout with Buddy Roberts due to an injury, has now won three of his past four and seven of his past nine, which included an injury-shortened stint on "The Ultimate Fighter 11."

The latest UFC 153 card now includes:

Champ Jose Aldo vs. Erik Koch (for featherweight title)

Alan Belcher vs. Vitor Belfort

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Glover Teixeira

Jon Fitch vs. Erick Silva

Rony "Jason" Mariano Bezerra vs. Sam Sicilia

Demian Maia vs. Rick Story

Chris Camozzi vs. Luiz Cane

Diego Brandao vs. Joey Gambino

Reza Madadi vs. Cristiano Marcello

Sergio Moraes vs. Renee Forte
