zaksame
Bah a round table of idiots. Why do they give Fertita's credit? The ONLY reason there was change was because the of the various commissions FORCED it or they wouldn't be allowed venues in their back yards. The Fertita's have allowed for a more organized operation but even that is not what saved the sport, they were losing money running it THEIR way. The reason it survived was it took just long enough to reach enough venues and enough people to allow for profit. Soccer is arguably the biggest money sport on the planet and go figure ,also reaches out to more people than any other sport. IF the UFC did not adapt to the various commissions, they would not be around today,no matter Fertita's or who ever ran it. Morals have lowered a lot over the last 10-15 years,at one time this sport wouldn't have a chance of getting into Canada, the same as we said no to casinos at one time. So it wasn't Dana or Lorenzo, just the guidelines and the market waiting to be reached.Big Rich mafia casino owners allowed the time needed for it to happen. classicboxer
They turned it into boxing. Not quite, but they modeled it after boxing. It's nothing like the original.
UFCCagerattler
Randy said it plainly enough. The business model of original MMA just doesn't work. But it was a better sport. There is no doubt at all.

They put their own money, time and effort into the sport and built this. You have to remember that MMA is still illegal in a lot of places, even in some American states. Without them, who knows if someone else would have just come along and helped to promote and fund things? It might not have happened
