The reason I think Anderson Silva is better than the other top fighters.

I remember a couple of years ago watching the "P4P" rankings constantly change place by number of wins. One month it would be Georges St-Pierre, six months later it would be Anderson Silva. They were determining who was the best by number of wins. This is a rubbish technique.

When I show my grand kids amazing UFC clips, which do you think they are going to be more impressed by, Anderson Silva finishing dudes in 1-2 rounds via Bruce Lee techniques, or Georges St-Pierre laying on top off another dude for 5 rounds? Going by the number of wins to determine who the best is is just stupid. There is a major difference between walking up and knocking out the number one contender, and outscoring him for a decision win.

I feel the same way about Jon Jones too. Yeah, he started the UFC younger than Anderson Silva, and will likely accrue more wins than Anderson, but until he starts finishing dudes the way Anderson did, it will be hard for me to accept him as the "greatest of all time."

The whole P4P rankings are just opinionated anyway. Absolutely though, dominating title contenders in 1 to 2 rounds is a lot more impressive then laying on someone for 5 rounds consistently.

And that is why Brazil dominates MMA. That is why they are one of the funnest to watch. They come to finish the fight. Its called killer instinct,

^This is so true, thats why the hate is so silly 20-40 years from now people will regard what Anderson did and his performances as something truly amazing and spectacular, the hate wont change the fact he is sick and will be remembered as nothing short of great. Whose got a better highlight reel than Anderson in mma?

No sir you need to go WAY back further and watch when Silva LOSES.

Silva has not changed his fight style one bit from the very first time i watched him,the ONLY thing he has done is add some size.

Go back and check out a LEGIT 170 Silva, skinny as a tooth pick but definitely fights 100% the same as he did.

Point???

Point is he has not evolved one bit and is every bit beatable as he was back then ,if given a decent opponent. It is pretty obvious Silva does NOT like the ground game and for good reason,he is a counter striker.,you can't counter strike on your back.

So go back watch his losses AND even the Sonnen first fight and you will see a VERY average fighter that can ONLY fight standing up.Only reason he caught Sonnen is becuase Sonnen is a half assed fighter with weak cardio,Sonnen was already gassed by round 3 in that fight,so even a 135 BJJ could have submit him.

You can even watch the Cote fight a guy the UFC CUT,Cote did not commit to allow Silva to counter,so it was a nothing fight,he exposed yet another weakness.

GSP got beat by a LW who looked like a kid trying to fight an adult in the first round, in fact he had to tap to strikes to avoid getting beat up even further...

Yet you always say that Silva faces crappy opponents when in all reality it only took one to end GSP's reign a fighter who you always talk good about.
