lmfao

This thread paints a pretty picture.

People aren't flocking to Chick-fil-A to support free speech, they're going to support the company's stance against gay rights.

Dress it up however you want.

Even Fox News does little to hide the subtext

I think people on both sides of this issue are stupid. I don't agree with their anti-gay views but it's their right to have those views and they shouldn't be protested or punished because of it as long as they don't discriminate against employees and customers. I also don't think the people upset with Chick-Fil-A should be ****-talked either, they have just as much of a right to voice their opinions as Chick-Fil-A's owner does.

I wouldn't and don't eat at Chick-Fil-A but that's because I hate fast food. Why should I waste my money on their cheap quality food when I can make a better version at home?

you know what the best thing about all this is?

You guys support Chick-Fil-A for expressing their freedom of speech...

Then bashing the "libtards" for doing the same exact thing.

Nice job guys.

Actually were not standing against anything they said - were supporting chick fil a for their freedom of speech, and your indignation over bashing is quite laughable considering the amount of hate being spewed from those supporting the boycott.

Get your facts straight son.

Its a mix of both - but it is indeed primarily for free speech. But hey, its not like you care about facts or anything, right?

I made my own chicken sandwich for dinner last night and left-overs for tonight's dinner. A baked lemon pepper breaded chicken breast with homemade BBQ sauce on one side and homemade Buffalo sauce on the other, on a toasted whole wheat bun with a little bit of mayonnaise and mustard on both sides, lettuce and tomatoes under the chicken breast (touching the BBQ sauce side) and pickles on top (touching the Buffalo sauce side). And as a side dish I made spicy garlic baked potato wedges and I dipped them in what was left of the homemade sauces.

My Chicken Sandwiches & Potato Wedges > Chick-Fil-A's Chicken Sandwiches & Fries - All Day, Every Day

You honestly cannot address me without taking what I said as a personal affront can you

You take a plausible statement and then qualify it with an insult.

At this point you are either being intentionally naive or trolling. Or your views on gay marriage and gay rights are in line with theirs. If that's the case be honest with yourself.

At least those on the opposite side of the issue aren't afraid to come out and say what they are protesting and don't feel the need to dress it up and parade it around as a free speech issue.

My only problem with this whole situation is the amount of bias people are using when they write about it.

Fil-A has just as much right to stand against gay marriage as much as the people have the right to protest against Fil-A for having that stance!

Gay rights + butthurt = lols

I couldnt agree more- but this goes beyond mere protest - this is about a special interest group actively bullying & trying to silence those whom they disagree with. Hell, when you have three city mayors declaring a private business is no longer welcome, doesnt that kinda bring ya back to the days of when shop owners used to have signs out front saying "negros not served here"?

which 3 mayors? I know the boston mayor has.

And what does 3 people have to do with everyone.

Of course the people against it don't want them in so they'll agree with the mayor.

But if thats the case the sole fault lies in those 3 mayors for even suggesting such a law to ban them from the states.

Also, all i have seen is the Boston mayor writing letters to Chic-Fil-A expressing hisdislike for their company which is fine by me, but if they try to pass something that bans them then its a problem. But i haven't seen any of that yet.

can go both ways i guess.

this private business actively 'bullys' by supporting anti-civil rights orginizations and calls it freedom of speech. that is more like "negros not welcome here"

sure they should be allowed to have their business anywhere and the people will determine if it is successful or not. The bad thing is that this kind of freedom of speech promotes inequality, where as the other side is fighting for equality.

I think the biggest problem is

#1. people are ***holes

#2. people wanna implement their beliefs on other people regardless of equality being a factor

Also the mayor of DC is in on it too. And its rather funny that Rahm, the mayor of chicago - which now has the highest murder & crime rate in the nation, doesnt "share chicago values.

Do I really have to spell it out for you? Its not just these mayors - its a concerted effort by many to oppose & silence anyone who disagrees with the LGBT agenda.

There is absolutely no bullying on the part of chick fil a - as they do not threaten nor try to intimidate anyone. Peaceful, respectful activism is not the same as bullying - which is actively trying to force someone into submission.

Bloomberg is right here...I have no problem with that.

But its the Mayors that are at fault, not the people protesting it and you guys are attacking them just as much imo.

The Mayors have no right using their jobs as leverage for their personal beliefs. And thats what they're doing....but that doesn't mean the protesters don't have a right protest anymore.

Your problem should be strictly with the mayors and NOT with the protesters.

Protest is fine, when its protest for a legit matter. All that happened was a fellow expressed his opinion. Would the LGBT community be equally supportive if the "christian right" boycotted & protested a certain business whos owners support the LGBT cause? Or would they cry foul & bigotry & intolerance? And it even goes beyond the protest & boycot - it goes to the sheer amount of hate being spewed by the left & the LGBT community. For a group of people claiming bully victim status they sure know who to fill the role of the bully quite well....

No need to answer...just be honest with yourself is all I ask.

so for example if chick-filler were donating funds to anti-gay rights activists in order to prevent gays from achieving the rights of every other american based on the beliefs of another group of people is not considered bullying?

its freedom of speech?

maybe i misused 'bullying' and shoulda used discrimination?

and right here is where i have a problem with what your saying....You don't think its a legit matter. So since YOU don't think its legit they don't have a right? I feel like thats a little selfish.

How can you say its not a legit matter when it does effect people?

Why does Chic-Fil-A get the chance to come out and speak their mind but not these protesters?

Im not even taking a side at this point, but this whole situation is getting ridiculous and hypocritical.

WRONG

im more liberal than anything, and i think same sex marriage isnt an issue...i support chickfila becouse of the intolerance of the liberals/gay community...the CEO states his belief his opinion and becouse of that they want to boycott and attack his business that has nothing to do with it....they serve/employ anyone, even gays....but they want to boycott his company becouse his belief isnt what they believe....i dnt care if gay ppl dnt go to chickfila thats fine, thats there right, but to try to boycott and try to picket and keep them out of states? that is intolerant and denying of the core of freedom of speech....
