Cowboy Cerrone would ****ing smash Pettis

Really wanna see that fight' date=' hope it happens. Rooting for Pettis.[/quote']

Not really rooting for either guy, but this kind of has a nostalgic fight like Hendo vs Shogun did, this is an amazing fight that was supposed to happen in the WEC and would have if the UFC didn't merge it, now we may never see it. But they are still young and just starting to scratch their primes.

I guess if Diaz is waiting for a title shot I don't think he's exactly earned, then if Cerrone beats Guillard make Cerrone vs Pettis for the next contender. I give Pettis the slight edge I guess, it's close, very interesting.

I agree. I think the UFC will definitely make this fight happen, it may not be soon but I'm sure we will see this fight especially since Cerrone is calling him out and talking some trash.

Yeah I think that would be ideal, or maybe have the winner of Cerrone vs Pettis fight Diaz for the title shot. It's a very close fight IMO. They are both great on the feet and on the ground, it'll come down to who ever performs better that night. Should be a real interesting and entertaining fight though.

Yes, he beat Joe

His only "big" win in the UFC LoL

Yes he beat Bendo in a close fight BUT.......

Bendo is undefeated in the UFC and holds the belt currently

Pettis is 2-1 in the UFC with his only wins being Joe and Heathen LoL

Wins over Castillo, Lauzon, Stephens and Benson are very impressive he's very young, talented and dynamic there's no doubting that, no big holes in his game very dangerous. That being said he had a miserably loss to Guida and a split decision against Jeremy he doesn't exactly deserve to be at the top of the title picture talk, but I really don't think Nate does either, but I do Believe Nate's probably the best Lightweight in the world, top 3 easily so I won't bicker about that.

I meant Nate is top 3.

Guida showed a whole in his game...I guess? Pettis was a guy who took Benson down, many times and defended many of Benson's takedown attempts, he did outgrapple Guida and kill Castillo. I mean I wouldn't be so quick to say Pettis's weakness is his ground game or guys with great top control and takedowns just yet.

I could care less about Nate he's fighting for the title so he's good to go

And I agree Pettis a very promising fighter but most fans talk about him like he's this end all be all

When he hasent done anything impressive but beat Bendo but look where Bendo is and where Pettis is

He's overrated but can be something in the future

Scared of what?

I don't appreciate you being a little ***** and thinking you should lecture me on the Pettis vs Benson fight because you misunderstood what I wrote or I explained it poorly.

You think, I think Pettis dominated Ben because of the kick? No...*******, just because everyone else does, doesn't mean I do. It was 2 rounds to 2 rounds going into the 5th and the Kick sealed the decision. I'm aware.

Someone was saying his weakness may be guys with great top control and takedowns and I argued that he was able to defend some of Ben's takedowns, get takedowns of his own on Ben and threaten him very much with his grappling, that he knocked Castillo's head off and I believe choked out Roller, that he arguably outgrappled Guida and should of won the decision. That it's a little silly to say " that's Pettis's weakness ".

Yes it is a weakness bendo doesn't lay on you when he gets you down Guida does and he was shown that he couldn't handle someone with better top game that is willing to lay there and not attack with subs personally instead of Cerrone I want to see a rematch between Guida and him or him vs Maynard to see if he can handle it if he can did a way to win against either them I say give him a title shot but if loses I say give him Cerrone because that will just be a badass fight

Pettis's next fight should be either Cerrone ( if he beats Guillard ) or Maynard, period.

Nate is getting a shot, him vs Benson will be a HUGE draw and even more of a classic war.

Yeah him vs Maynard would be great but him bs Cerrone would be an amazing fight that's the only reason I said if he fights Maynard and loses he should fight Cerrone and I agree him vs bendo would be a huge draw. Am I missing something here we are agreeing on alot of points (except me thinking the top game is a weakness) but I stated that was my personal opinion and not a fact. You seem a little hostel toward me did I say something offensive?

If I seemed hostile, it's probably because of everything going on in life right now I didn't mean to. I respectfully disagree is all. Pettis will lose to fighters who are better than him, he has no blatant holes to where he can be exploited while still seeming more skilled, no. He has an amazing track record against great wrestlers and takedown artists, kicking Castillo's head off, triangling Shane Roller, defending and taking Ben down himself, out grappling Ben, outgrappling Guida. The general consensus is that Guida wouldn't even be able to controversially grind out a decision like he did before. I just don't see it, how that's his weakness, I think a guy like Eddie Alvarez would be a harder fight for him than a rematch with Guida.
