Clay 'n lay' Guida vs Jamie Varner

Both coming off losses, both arguably top ten divisional guys, why not?

I dont think Varner would let Guida play a running game or LnP game, such is his relentless style and general all-roundedness. Showed against Barboza that he will push forward and take a few, then showed against Lauzon that despite taking it on short notice he still has the gas tank and skills to go the 3 rounds

Discuss, thanx

Lauzon is coming off a win though, I dont think it does enough for him to beat Guida who is coming off a loss - especially in the way he lost.

Lauzon vs Maynard - does a lot more for both guys in terms of getting a title shot.

Varner vs Guida - Both coming of losses, Varner has the style to bring the best out of Clay, a win for either throws them right back in the mix.

Another long shot might be Guida vs Barboza or Etim

Its crazy how one performance can change your entire oppinion of a fighter.

I used to love clay and always rooted for him. However, since the Maynard fight, I really want him go on a losing streak to give him and his camp the kick up the **** they deserve!

Id prefer to see Lauzon beat him than Varner though to be fair. As i dont think Varner would..

Dana needs to punish Guida for that hellish performance against Maynard and put him in the cage with Nate Diaz. Nate would walk him down and taunt him the whole time' date=' making Guida look like his *****.[/quote']

he already ragdolled Nate once, i don't think he'd resort to the same tactics he used against Maynard, cause he knows he can beat Diaz. Varner is the perfect punishment for him.

From the carpenter to the running man.

Id rather just not see him in action anymore.....

For 25 minutes, I'm not entirely sure I didn't have a siezure during that fight, and I'm not even epileptic.

I would think guida vs varner would be a good fight. I think after the backlash these fighters are getting for "running" they will change their game up. Condit never fought like that, Guida never fought like that either.

There has to be a point when you're listening to a coach say "ok don't let him hit you at all" in a fight, where you think, its a ****ing fight. Why would they change from what's made them so successful. If you think you're gonna lose a fight on your feet, take it down, if you think you're gonna lose on the ground stand up. If you can't beat them either way. Pray to your god and swing..
