Now that Shields is back in the MW division' date=' how do you think he would do against Silva?

I honestly believe Shields would beat Silva. Why isn't this talked about more often? Shields would make Silva tap out to strikes guarandamnteed. I'd bet my whole account on it.[/quote']

I'd take that bet if I thought your account was worth anything....

AS the defending Strikeforce MW champion Shields should have fought Silva right away.

They have not allowed that to happen because they are protecting the UFC brand.

I think Shields would beat Silva too.

It was stupid that Shields came over and Dana asked him to move down to WW. We could've gotten so much more out of a Silva vs. Shields fight' date=' instead of that piece of junk we got in Toronto with one-eyed GSPoon.[/quote']

Shields would have nothing for Anderson. His takedowns wouldn't be as good as Chael's and his stand up is horrendous.

Just one more example of the UFC not getting it.

They are so scared to have anything happen that might hurt the brand.

They had a chance to match Shields against Silva right after Shields put a total beat down on Dan Henderson.

It couldn;t have been any better.

So who did they match him against?

Kampmann.

If I hadn`t been following the UFC for so long I would have been surprised.

They don;t know about match making. That is a mystery to them.

Any GSP fight is going to be a bore fest and 99% of Silva's fights are going to be beat downs. Why would you give him a title shot if you know he has no chance? Stupid' date=' gtfo.[/quote']

Retard logic. Why doesn't Anderson just retire then? Anything can happen in a fight and it made more sense for the MW champion of Strikeforce to fight the MW champion of the UFC. It would've been more exciting and you can't say anything to defend the decision to make him move down to WW. You POS.

"Anything can happen in a fight" is not true in Jake Shields' case. He can't make anything happen, he's not dangerous. What could Jake Shields do? Hang onto Anderson's leg so badly it drops off?

I'd still go with Silva over Shields. Probably by KO in the first round.

Now maybe.

They made him drop down to WW and fight a bunch of little guys for no apparent reason.

Now he goes back up to MW and will have to fight probaly 10 fights just to get a shot.

Ed ****ing Herman?

Who the **** is Ed Herman?

Does he have a W over Dan Henderson?

From Jake Shield's perspective, he's not on his level. For Ed Herman, this is a big shot against an upper tier fighter, considering Ed Herman is 7-5 in the UFC.

They must be worth at least eleventy seven jillion dollars!

Minimum!

Since they are privately owned' date=' you will never really know.

With street smarts and a dominating personality, Dana White has helped build UFC into a billion-dollar enterprise that dominates mixed martial arts. He demands control over nuts-and-bolts details and doesn't forgive easily, but he says he has no regrets.

In 2001, White persuaded Fertitta and his brother Frank, two Las Vegas casino owners, to buy the foundering UFC for $2 million. White has run the company ever since and gets credit for building MMA into a mainstream sport that's drawn young fans away from boxing. The Fertitta brothers are now billionaires, according to Forbes, thanks to their UFC investment.

I honestly think Ed Herman is going to give him a good run tonight and could win. Shields does not have the best cardio and this fight is taking place in Colorado and Herman trains there. Also he is no slouch on the ground don't be surprised if he pulls the upset. So that should tell you what I think Silva would do to him...

If Jake wins it means nothing.

If Herman wins it means everything.

Ed Herman is a tough ****er a good fighter and Jake is going to having to have good fight and not get hurt.

AlwaysStup, you should be banned for posting stupid things ... Shields couldn't even finish Akiyama ... how can you expect him to finish the greatest fighter in the UFC (just for the record, I hate A. Silva, but I recognize his greatness ;))... shields being now in the MWD doesn't change anything, he's gonna lose against Herman, he shouldn't be in the UFC, there's nothing exciting about him.
