Boetsch is a joke he was being destroyed by Yushin in his last fight... no I dont count Lombard as a fight.. He would be destroyed by Weidman because he cant beat a wrestler

If Bisping wins I see in closer to a title shot

Same for Belcher

But then again that leaves him with no one to fight so I'll say Belcher because Bisping is a bigger name for Anderson

Mayans and all that. Never gonna happen.

Somehow they keep finding 'new information' on the Mayan calendar. The doomsday clock has been pushed back beyond 2012 (apparently they forgot to carry the 1 the first time).

I think Weidman needs to have another dominant win over a top contender before he gets his shot. Any of the guys on the list would do. But even then, I doubt he'd be a big enough name to interest Silva.

Jones had 13 pro fights when he won the belt and then went on a tear.

The "inexperienced" excuse is BS' date=' Weidman is 5-0 in the UFC and molested the #1 contender[/quote']

Exactly. Dana already said that Weidman destroyed the #3 fighter in the division and did more than enough to earn a shot. Plus there are plenty of UFC fighters that had shots early in their career. This isn't boxing, you don't need to pad your record with 20-30 cans before getting a title shot.

It's BS that Andy is taking a break after he just sat around for 11 months with an injury.

"Anderson said he wants to take some time off until after the end of this year' date=' [then'] we'll start talking to him."

If he actually waits until 2013 to start fight negotiations then he wouldn't fight until at least March.

Anderson is starting to get into that Fedor area where any fights he takes is worthless to him and priceless to his opponent.

We'll see how he handles being the goat.

yeah, it just sucks that the MW division is just going to stall since he wants to sit around and wait to see how the GSP fight plays out.

^This is true but Silva is in no way like Fedor, Fedor turned down the bigger fights (ufc, Overeem, M1 etc.). Silva wants more pressure, more attention, higher stakes and for this he gets called for ducking BS.

Well that is bad business standards Dana is setting. The UFC is suppose to run the show ,not Silva. He had a VERY easy fight,he SHOULD be able to fight within 2-3 weeks of that last one,no excuses.I heard Dana mention something about he wants some time off ROFLMAO,are you kidding me??He has had a TON of time off,he needs to start fighting now that FINALLY some decent fighters have arrived.

Dana shows his true hypocritical face as usual. He cries over and over he wants guys to put on a great show, well how about the guys not putting on a show ...period??

Now this Silva candy *** chicken is going to cost Weidman money one way or another.

If Weidman got his fight and beat Silva he gets a HUGE pay increase. So he has lost that.If he goes ahead and fights and loses,he probably, well he will lose his title shot,so again a ton of money out of his pocket. All of this because Silva needs to spend 4 hours in front of the mirror every morning doing his make up.

IDK maybe Silva has some hot shoe place scoped out for his next dancing gig.You know he is going to need some MJ[white gloves] type shoes to look the part.

The problem is that if he does get a fight with GSP it probably wouldn't happen until March or April of next year. So then you have at least 6 months until Andy fights again after that. So he would have defended the MW title one time in over two years which is BS. August 2011- September or October 2013. There is no way that anyone can say that a champ should do that.

If he isn't interested in MW bouts then he should vacate the title. There is no reason he can't take another MW fight in October or November and then the GSP fight between March and May.

he deserves the shot ofc but I don't think he will win.

I just felt like pointing that out.

^You make a great point and I agree with it to a certain extent but I think you also have to remember Andersons age. At this point he has done everything and beaten everybody, he is the GOAT (and if you disagree then we prob shouldnt be talking). He prob doesnt wanna go through with fighting a not to well known contender. Plus he wants to go off on BIG fights, ones that people wanna see aka buy PPVs.

You cant honestly believe that casual and mainstream fans would be in a real rush to see this fight. Dana AND Silva know this, after Chris beat Munoz, dana was still not particularly commital to giving him a title shot, they both know it wont have mass attention. Dana obv didnt force Andersons hand like he has before and with other fighters. Theres a clear reason why.

I know this situation isnt ideal but if anyone has earned it than its Silva and hes not exactly a young guy or living off of trt. I just hate how pple act like Weidman is some sort of God or Messiah (plse dont be one of those fans) and its not like Silva wants to go out and fight unknowns or cans, he wants superfights.

I'm not a fan of Silva but I respect his talent. His age is part of the reason that I want to see him fight more. He is getting older and it will catch up to him eventually. I honestly think that he is seriously considering GSP as a retirement fight. Beating one of the best fighters in the world would be the best way to go out. If that's the case I would rather have him be truthful about it so they can keep the MW division moving.

To be the goat you have to fight.

Thats a rule.

Yes, but you have to fight big names and top competition. And are you really trying to suggest that fighting Weidman would do more to achieve that end than waiting for GSP? Hell, he'll gain more respect for fighting Diaz than he would Weidman.

Why should Anderson care about Weidmans money? If Weidmans that good he'll keep winning and making money. Anderson cares about Andersons money. Just like I dont give two jiblets whay you make.

Also you talk about FINALLY decent fighters have arrived... This is nonsense.

Weidman got famous beating Munoz and Maia - Munoz got famous beating Maia and Leben- Maia got embarassed by Anderson and you no longer consider him decent competition.

Boetsch was being destroyed by Yushin and knocked him out with a big bunch congratulations to him but not impressive.

Weidman should be given the choice of who he wants at the moment.

He is obviously the top of the list when it comes to a title shot but Anderson cbf fighting someone who can beat him unless they smack talk like crazy. I reckon if Weidman follows Chael's lead, he will have a title shot sooner than later.
