How ****ing petty can we possibly be? Is it impossible for him to be a dual-citizen and represent BOTH nations?

****ing Amerikuh.. You give me headaches sometimes.

In the Olympics....YES, you're there to represent YOUR country. It's not petty...it's disrespectful.

It's only disrespectful to overly-patriotic Americans. I think it's great that he decided to represent both countries he feels an attachment to.

I'm pretty sure that silver medal counted towards the USA, not Mexico.

No they wouldn't. There's nothing wrong with being a dual citizen and respecting both countries.

Who said it was wrong to be a dual citizen? But if you grew up in a country that gave you the freedom to train, freedom to excel, freedom to become educated, the freedom to live a much better life, why not honor them by giving them the only recognition?

If you had parents that didn't do crap for you and were raised by other people and then need to make a speech thanking your parents, would you hold up a picture of your dead beat mom and dad or the ones who gave you oportuntiy? Mexico did nothing for him.

He's honoring them both. It would be offensive if he only waved the Mexican flag and not the American flag. I just don't see what the big deal is. Also, how do you know that Mexico did nothing for him? Unless you are Leo Manzano, I don't think you truly know what Mexico did or did not do for him.

You represent one country and he did - like another poster already mentioned... the USA still got a silver in the medal count.

He's still allowed to have pride in both the United States and another country. Americans died for free speech. This isn't marriage, dude. You can have pride in multiple countries.

its funny because America is a nation of immigrants, who even though are 100% American, born in America to American parents, in an American family for nearly 250 years tell people they're Irish, or Italian, but no, they're not, they're American. So why you mad?

http://www.gcir.org/immigration/facts/statistics

13.5% not including the illegal ones. Seems high to me.

And what I meant was founded by immigrants

That graph said that it did include illegals, as well as 24 million tourists.

But, back on topic, yes, we were founded by immigrants. But, Africa is considered the cradle of life, so really, every other country besides Africa was founded by immigrants.

I dont understand the disdain towards these people. Ok a lot get into America illegally' date=' once here they are normally very polite, hard working people. I have one for a maid and one gardner and they are lovely people. I treat them like family. I help them out and they help me, What flag they choose to walk under doesnt affect their heart[/quote']

Your username is a bit suspect Mcartney? Really?

LOL really.. obviously all "Mcartney's" are related to Paul. Im assuming that's what you mean unless its an insider UFC joke. My knowledge isnt so great but thats the only famous Mcartney I can think of.

No, I was talking about the spelling of it, Mcartney doesn't really seem like a real name, and we've had a lot of butthurt gotten to perma banned members making accounts here recently...

It doesn't matter if she is a troll or not' date=' do we really need people on here that watch just because it's half naked guys beating on each other?

Although I'm sure that's the same feeling a lot of guys share when watching Rousey.[/quote']

She's a girl. If she finds then attractive, so be it. The MMA IQ on these forums is rather low, so I doubt she's gonna hurt anything.

Why are certain factions in America so worried about what someone else does. He waved the American flag then the Mexican flag.

Are people not allowed to have a heritage anymore America?

Sure they are...when they're not at the f---ing Olympics representing ONE COUNTRY. The Olympics isn't about representing heritage, it's about representing the country THAT ALLOWED YOU TO REPRESENT THEM.....GET IT YET?

Why is that so difficult for you non-Americans to understand?

What if he waved a f--ing rebel flag? Heritage not hate...right? Yeah...OWNED.
