Initial reports say UFC 150 did just 190k buys

If this is true, along with the dismal $650k gate, that would make it the worst performing card of the year!

Does that shock anyone?

Granted that apart from the main and co main events the card didnt look great on paper, but a headline of Bendo vs Edgar for the LW strap and Cerrone vs Guillard on paper is not exactly bad... is it?

Discuss. thanx

Well... nobody likes watching Edgar, really.(I bet on him btw, non-bias, i just dont like point fighting) Only 2 fan-appealing fights on a card is like paying 50$ for something worth 20$.

Plus didn't Dana say Directv went black that night? i.e. offline, discontinued or some nonsense?

A blip on the radar' date=' a drop in the bucket, a link on the chain.

Besides, people were watching the last weekend of the 2012 Olympics.

US Gold baby... ;)

Zuffa isn't going anywhere.[/quote']

the Olympics and the fight card were not on the same time? or are you talking about the highlights of the Olympics?

not a surprise

UFC is dying and failing to evolve

great point....

they have all the potential to be huge, but they are hitting a point now where they are being stagnant and not evolving

i mean, how many times do we have to see a frankie edgar rematch? thank God Dana didn't do it again, but it seems like he just makes quick on the fly decisions that don't interest the fans. no one wanted to see edgar bendo 2 and it just wasn't all that exciting to fans. nothing about this main event made people say "I have to see that!"

edgar didn't deserve a rematch. the only reason penn and maynard got rematches was because their first fights were EXTREMELY close. bendo/edgar 1 was not close in my opinion

i really don't care if ufc does small numbers, and neither should any of us, because WE DON'T HAVE STOCK IN THE COMPANY. i still enjoy watching PPVs and discussing mma...its on ufc executives to find a way to get numbers higher. that probably means brock or some crossover stars (bring in a huge boxer, a celebrity that people would want to see fight, etc.)

I feel of the norm because it was the first ever main event that i turned off before the fight even began.I had no interest in either but usually i can watch a fight none the less.

Yes Cerrone is usually a good fight, except the Nate one,.that frustrated the heck out of me watching how dumb he fought.I would have fired his coaching and corner, obviously nobody helped his mind set during that fight.

The rest of the card was downright awful, the prelims were the worst i have ever seen.I do not think it is any coincidence that i thought it was the worst card ever and the gate proved it.

Every time when i watch the weigh in show and Rogan spews out "matchmaker extraordinaire" i drop my head and sigh and just say whatever..kiss *** Rogan.

I would love to go back and watch the Dana blog or pre fight videos to see just how much bull he was feeding the media and telling us how great this card is.

There is ONLY two fighters i care to watch below the 170 division and that is Aldo and Hominick, the rest i couldn't care less about.

Probably the best UFC in years.

Without Lesnar the UFC is going to struggle to break 250K pays.

Is it not a coincidence that UFC 144, with Frankie as champion, did almost 400,000 buys. While UFC 150, with Bendo as champion, did so poorly?

As champion, Frankie pulled in more PPV, a higher gate, and more attendance.

More evidence that people hate Bendo and love Frankie, the people's champion!

Actually, that headline probably did kill it. Bendo isn't exactly a household name in the US. And Edgar isn't known for having a lot of exciting fights because he's a stick and run fighter. And a very small portion of his fight that have been exciting were only exciting because he was getting beat the **** up.

You mean his FOTN at UFC 144, his KOTN at UFC 136, or his FOTY at UFC 125? Yeah, Frankie is a boring fighter.

Lmao way to prove his point.

Only exciting when getting his *** kicked.

Frankie is Guida 2.0 without the crackhead head movement.

Edgar- Bendo 1 was boring, the immediate rematch idea was stupid.

what GSP said....

He's not a boring fighter...and he's at least more exciting than Bendo.

Does anyone really remember the rest of Bendo's fights in the UFC? they've all been ******.

Shocking ... no

I knew the headliner was going to come down to another decision or a split decision. I wasnt spending $60 to see edgar and bendo point fight. That was the selling point of the event, the main event and co-main event.

Melvin/Cerrone was a good match on paper, and ended decisivley. that was FOTN for sure

the preliminary card ended up being decent, all but one bout ended either by KO/TKO or sub

All in all not alot of name power on the card. So it's not shocking it didn't do well.
