King_Can
Up to this point. Hendo could still win the UFC title and Shogun could beat Gustaffson and also win the title back. Pretty solid arguement, although the bias shogun fans outweigh the hendo fans  both sides have a pretty solid case discuss.

openwindow
Hendo: 29-8, Like 3 world champion belts, Beat Shogun recently Shogun: 21-6, 1 world champion belt, Lost to Hendo in beforementioned bout. To summarize into a sentence: Hendo started his career earlier and has a better record with better accomplishments.

mmafan73
i would say almost a tie... if hendo beats jones for sure hendo but a UFC title means more than a strikeforce title.... so you could make the debate... there both legends... WAR SHOGOD/HENDO!!!!!
carnages
right now Shogun, because he won a UFC belt But if Hendo wins then it is definately him
georgelebrun
I went with Shogun, Hendo is yet to hold a belt in the UFC yet, sure Shogun didn't defend his, but he won it..
carnages
Hendo starts out 8-0 and SHOGUN is making a comeback!! ZOMG GREATEST POLL EVER!! Sorry just thought the poll deserved the same overreaction the fight did. you are just mad that Jon Jones can never put on great fights like Shogun and Hendo
Banham
Shogun never won a PRIDE title, let alone 2 Diff ones at the same damn time. Shogun won the MW GP. That's like saying DC just won the SF HW title. He won a glorified tournament..

Like i said, glorified tournament. Wandy had the belt for a while and him and Shogun wouldn't fight. Then Dan came along and slept Wanderlei in brutal fashion. UFC Title > PRIDE Title. Lmao, 12'er
Noowtron
Hendo without a doubt, he had two belts at the same time in Pride, KO'd Wanderlei when he was a beast, and hes the only one to KO fedor. Not to mention if he wins against Jones he might bethe greatest MMA fighter ever
Banham
I see that you don't have an actual response. How do you want me to respond to a newb who hasn't watched MMA for that long, let alone a PRIDE event. PRIDE was the #1 MMA org. Go look at the rankings back then and Rampage proved it when he decimated the UFC poster boy at the time Chuck Lidell.

OmoGOAT
Even if Hendo loses its still 2 titles to 2 titles. Question is do you take more stock in a title won in different weight classes or different organizations. IMO Hendo edges shogun out win or lose against Jones because he won the head to head match up.

Leiting
Admittedly biased. Hendo is an easy top 5 favorite of all time in my books. However, even looking at it as objectively as I possibly can, I have to say that Dan's longevity, not to mention insane weight jumping edges him above Shogun. At the end of the day, when you're looking at their loses, Dan's loss to Lil Nog is probably the "worst" lose between the two of them, but I'd say Dan's victories over Wandy, Fedor, Big Nog and Shogun himself are a bit more impressive than Shogun's career highlights of Machida (arguably twice), Rampage and Liddell. The arguments over championship titles is a bit shallow - I think we've all learned that Championship fights and belts in this industry are often PPV selling tools more so than genuine honors. It's not an clear cut choice, but I think Hollywood Dan is the right one.

Hells_Bartender
Hendo held two Pride titles at the same time. Shobum only won the grand Prix. Hendo would have been the UFC middleweight champion if it wasn't for the greatest fighter on the planet. Would have probably won the Light Heavy title too if he was a legit sized Light Heavy. Plus Hendo smashed the GOAT. Plus Shobum tapped to strikes.
