PPV fighters hurting the cards?

With some of the UFC fighters getting a cut of the PPV buys are the cards they are on hurting? Jones and Silva are both fighters who get a piece of the PPV buys. UFC 151 seems a little weak imo. Is the UFC intentionally sandbagging these cards or is it a results of the UFC having more events each year?

names dont make good fights, fighter make good fights. just because some of the names arent big names doesnt mean the fights will be lame. yagin and siver should be very entertaining. johnson and castillo should be exciting too. we get to see tim means in action again, hopefully he puts on a good show. hold judgement until after the card is complete.

You might have a point there. This is an especially weak card...and I'm sure that the UFC wasn't very impressed with some of Jones' recent personal issues. But with the number of unknown fighters rapidly increasing, as well as many of the veterans approaching their twilight, we are going to see more and more cards such as this. And I believe it WILL dramatically affect ppv buys. Most fans want to see fighters that they are familiar with. That is why I disagree with forum members that are looking to cut a bunch of the veteran fighters, simply because they don't finish every fight.

I agree that the fighters don't have to be well known to put on good fights, often the high profile fights are way to over hyped and disappoint, while the undercard fights save the day

However, the unders are usually put of fueltv or fox. The PPV card for 151 seems weak. We are left with a co-main event like Ellenberger vs Horton. If you want to call it a co-main. Ellengerger is coming back.from a ko loss to Kampann and I don't think Herion has been in the UFC in years. It just seems they are trying to sell this card on the main event alone.

I wish they would have more significant fights that mean something as far as future title contenders go. At least two per card, a title fight and one significant fight. Belcher vs Belfort would have been an awesome addition to this card. I am sure they wanted to save that for Brazil.though.

Silver is always fun to watch and should be a good fight.

Hopefully the unders will come to fight as well. Still going to get this card just seems that PPC fighters like Jones are hurting the cards because they take to much of the pie...
