Who do you think wins Hendo/Jones

I love both these fighters that it's hard for me to pick a favorite so I'll just analyze who I think will realistically win

Experience - obviously hendo...this could help because he's old enough to know this really is his last chance at the UFC belt. hendo will have an amazing career with or without this win, and so will jones, but hendo might have enough insight to know how to pull through when it counts

Striking - significant edge goes to jones. don't know how the dude does it but he's a f'in beast on his feet. between the spinning elbows that land perfectly and the flying knees, Jones has some of the coolest and most efficient striking i have ever seen. hendo will probably want to keep this standing since he has the chance of landing a solid punch, but i see that being his worst possible mistake

Wrestling - this one is tough for me, but i have to say jones. yes, hendo is an olympic alternate while jones is a juco national champ, but Jones isn't dominating people the way he is without extremely good wrestling. jones made bader look like an ameatur at wrestling in their match, and hendo's age will likely be enough that jones should outwrestle him

Jiu-jitsu - Hendo...Hendo and Jones both don't like the jiu-jitsu game but obviously know it because they are in MMA. I'd give a slight edge to Hendo

Work ethic - 2 of the hardest workers ever, but I'd give it to Jones. the thing that struck me about jones is that every time he had an amazing win his comment to rogan was that he just wanted to practice that much harder for his next fight. no disrespect to hendo who works his **** off like no one here could imagine, but jones did not get to the skill level he's at without an extremely crazy work ethic

Overall - as probably most people who know MMA would say, you got to give the overall advantage to jones. hendo has been on an absolute tear, but jones is just on another level right now. no fight is a guarantee, and the only chance hendo really has is jones looking past him. to address jones' criticisms (which gets old by the way) i do think jones has a tendency to be both ****y and humble. he is just a kid and human like any of us so let's give him a bit of a break on this...i just hope this is similar to a shogun/hendo war where we really get to see heart from both fighters

The grappling, the takedown offense and defense isn't close....Not even a shred close....Olympian's mean nothing, this is professional fighting not amateur wrestling. Striking isn't really either, at distance Jones will be able to land at will and if Hendo closes distance he better be able to land the perfect punch because once he's in the clinch, he's doomed utterly....Look what Jones did to Machida in the clinch, look what Jones does to people he's ontop of, he can throw Dan down if he gets ahold of him no problem, Dan can't him. Size and Speed advantage go heavily to Jones so does cardio....This fight is not close, can Dan win? Yeah, will he? I'd say 10-1 odds seem right on this fight.

are you ****ing kiding me.Just because he does crazy stuff while striking does'nt mean he's good. The guy is rudimentary and a stiff puncher.

I think Hendo only has a punchers chance. Of course if he lands the H-bomb flush it's a wrap. I don't see Hendo taking Jones down. Even if Hendo is a better technical wrestler, Jones is too big. He can't box from the outside because he'll get picked apart. If he boxes from the inside Jones will probably just clinch and use leverage to throw him. Jones already beat his greatest threats at LHW which I think were Lyoto and Rashad. There are plenty of ways Jones can finish Hendo but only one way Hendo can finish Jones and I'm sure his trainers have warned him about circling to the left. If anyone deserves to shock the world then it's Hendo, but I don't see it happening.

agree with this...his greatest threats were machida and rashad. hendo is up there in terms of being a legit threat, but i just don't see it happening. the only possible way i see him losing this is if he looks past henderson...similar to how penn looked past edgar and gsp looked past serra

Just because Hendo may have more striking power and better technique doesn't mean he has the advantage standing up. Number one, Jones is unorthodox and I'll let you guess number 2....here's a hint. People always complain about it on here and it's 84.5 inches long;)

The biggest advantage that Jones has is his cardio. Did anyone else watch Shogun vs Henderson? Henderson only has 10 minutes of fighting in him.

Jones' date=' TKO round 3.[/quote']

I agree, no cardio.

Jones, by either ref stoppage due to strikes, or submission, round 3.

Still lasted longer than Machida' date=' and I bet Hendo will also be finished sooner[/quote']

I will not disagree with this assessment here.

Hendo will be unlikely to make it past the 3rd round. He knows what he needs to do to win. He's not going to tool around every round just waiting for the opportunity to present itself because that will just play right into Jones favor. He's going to go for it every round he's still awake and able to continue.

He either KTFO of Jones early in the fight, or gets caught himself in a sub, or TKO in the second or third.

I see this being one of Jones's easiest title defenses..

Agreed, Hendo won't be able to stop the takedown

Was that the first fight you've ever seen?

You try throwing nothing but bombs for 10 mins and see if you're the same fighter after.

And he obviously had more than 10 minutes of fighting if he came the closest to finishing the fight in the third
