rd86
I guarantee with everything now Jones is number 1 on Dana's **** list. I would not be surprised to see him cut after one loss. Especially with Dana hinting towards firing him if he refuses Machida on the 22nd.

rd86
Props to Chael for stepping up whether it was balls or stupidity. I personally don't think he could beat Jones but there's always a chance. But why the hell would he refuse Sonnen, a middle weight, on short notice? carnages
If he loses to Machida he should be cut, Machida is 2 and 5 in his last 7 fights
Yerbo
If anyone should be punished it should be Dana for putting on so many cards with so few fighters in the stable that he can't possible find legit fill-ins when fighters are injured. Rampage4real
Strip him of his title if he's too much of a coward to defend it against all comers.
rd86
I don't blame Jones entirely. Obviously Dana made a weak card(no big names, but still could of been good fights, just not carry a ppv) and Henderson getting hurt was the cause for all this but, Jones was definitely the straw that broke the camel's back. You're the champ. You don't refuse fights. Especially when they're trying to save a card.

SirRender
No it's [his career] not [in jeopardy], not at all. Jones is virtually untouchable. Want proof? Jones turns down the fight with Chael, Dana says "Screw it" and throws him on the very next card with Machida. If he was in trouble he wouldn't have been able to bump the existing main event to co-main event.
Leiting
Jones is in no danger of being cut or having his belt stripped of him. Anyone who thinks otherwise is reading too much into this. For better or worse, he's still one of the most well known and likely to prove being one of the top drawing fighters in the coming years. MMA fans who keep up on this junk are angry now, in two months, most casual MMA fans won't remember these last two days - and if Jones finishes his next two opponents, he'll be back to being the golden boy of the promotion and Dana White will go out there and say he's the best Light-Heavyweight Fighter to ever live. This is business people. These are smart people at the top of this company. You don't make choices that effect your bottom line with your heart, you make them with your head. Dana White and the Brothers might be angry today, but once Jones proves to be worth his weight in gold again, trust me, they'll all sing a different tune. And half the posters on this forum tonight screaming duck will end up saying things like "smart career move" or "get over it" in a few months. It's happened before, it'll happen again.
