Notice how he said he did what was best for HIM and HIS family. Sounds selfish to me. First off, he's already rich as hell. How the hell could not taking this fight deter his family at all. The guy makes tons! It's the fighters on the undercard who need to be worried. I understand wanting to prepare himself for Chael and all, but honestly, Jones would probably destroy Chael. Chael was out of shape, hasn't trained a day. A messy situation here. I'm trying to see Jones side of it, but as a fan it's just really hard because I wanted to see Jones/Hendo and when he turned down Sonnen, that was a huge disappointment.

If you've been training long enough and are confident in your skills, you should be able to step in the octagon anytime and take on anyone. Look at guys like Chris Weidman (against Maia), Charlie Brennaman(24hrs notice against Story), Cerrone against anyone really haha. Jones is a beast, and I think we can all agree on this even if you hate him, he could of stepped in September 1st and won.

That's all that matters. When I go to work it is for me and my family. Customers or fans in this case are secondary. Jones might be rich, but he is fighting for his children and grand childrens future. I'm actually suprised that you think he is fighting for you.

I agree with that but how is he doing what's best for himself and his family in this situation? Being the "company man" in this situation would have played out way better for him in the present and future. I don't understand his decision whatsoever

Actually he's not fighting ;). If he fights for his family, he would have still accepted the fight to bring in money, right?

Some fighters actually give a sh** about the fans and want to put on good fights. Look at Chael Sonnen he was willing to make the show go on. Donald Cerrone, Joe Lauzon, Varner, the names go on about fighters who give it their all for the fans. Yes, I agree it is to support their family, but then why does the UFC promote fights and go through all that??? for the fans. And I think Jones forgot about that aspect. Why do u think so many people are upset.

Accepting Sonnen would have put JBJ on another level. Declining it just shows what jacksons camp has done to MMA. If you don't study exactly how to safely win a FIGHT, you don't take it. It's all about advantage for them, it's like a kid playing a video game with a cheat code.

Honestly, just ****ing fight, stop with all this ********. I can see why Dana is pissed off. I would be too honestly. This isn't just one person they hosed over. A lot of people had plans for this, plane flights, hotels, time off work. Crazy the amount of money he just cost folks, not just the UFC.

Agree. That is why I like guys like Chael Sonnen and Donald Cerrone. They are confident in themselves and will just go in there and fight their opponent.

why do you post things not knowing the facts?

Chael is in great shape, he has been training with Dan Henderson to prep dan for the fight. So he is in Shape, has been training, and also has had JBJ on his mind for just as long as dan has.

..Chael stays in good shape. Then why the hell is everybody complaining he is out of shape?? Guess I took their word for it. Well you're right about this one buddy.
